Hey I figured I should finally put that track selector html that i made for that GSA tournament in the wayback so i put it on github. All the stuff can be found here: https://github.com/troyofathyns/Track_Selector

I suuuuuuck at coding so it's very bare bones and know that people here will be able to improve it.

I realized this while using reset abuse but it still applies when not using it so i figured i would share it. It seems that the gates do not unlock by use of the keys but actually by defeating the boss itself. For example Skelord's gate in ice world will open once he is defeated even if you don't pick up the key. This could save a few seconds in certain places in any% so it could be useful to know. Same concept applies to events so this also works for Ludo, Lil Fatty and the Jetpack key (same would probably also apply to the other keys but there is no way to avoid the key for those). I, however, would not suggest skipping Ludo's key as it seems the quick fly mechanic is given to you upon picking up Ludo's key.

Now that we have debated the frame rule should be a thing I wanna move to a more clear end timing method so that I can properly time the ends. I suggest once we get a full fade to black. I will adjust all things accordingly but I wanted to notify everyone so that people could adjust for future runs.

So I found a glitch a bit back and I personally chose not to use nor to reveal it. I did tell Alex Carpenter (the creator) and he has yet to do anything about it. Since all situations are meant to be decided by the community on speedrun.com, I will leave it up to all of us as to whether or not we can use the glitch in runs or not. The glitch is as follows:

Result of glitch: Can start jetpack coin sequence with >0 coins. Cause of glitch: Play the game up to and past the fifth key (only have ever done by going through the door at the finish line, haven't tried quick flying after getting the key) and then go to the menu and start a new game without closing the game.

When you get to the jetpack section before the fifth key, you will have as many coins as you did when you ended your last run. (i.e. collect 75 coins before starting a new game, you will have 75 coins when you start a new game).

This also allows you to collect more than 100 coins but that is pretty irrelevant for runs. I personally don't want to include it because of the set up time. You have to play the game up to that part before starting an actual speedrun of the game but it does make the jepack section faster since you don't have to worry about picking up coins.

Please discuss your thoughts below and we will come to a decision. I expect we can figure this out in a week but I won't necessarily put a timer on this.
