Oh, neat, sounds like they've got a much simpler way of implementing it, too. Thanks! XD
I'm sure I'm not the first person to bring this up (and wouldn't know where to begin to find the answer) but simply: have the admins ever considered creating an additional database for high scores, slapping it on a high-score.net, and integrating it with speedrun.com for both a speedrunning AND high scoring community?
Sure, I bring it up purely in self-interest because I'd probably be a little more interested in getting all the points than shaving off all the seconds, but it could also widen the community and bring in new people.
Wouldn't that kind of constitute a conflict of interest, though? Jam runs the ladder, but he also has the top spot. Isn't it in the best interest of the site to reflect the worldwide speed records as accurately as possible?
Nah, I just needed to peruse the site a little more to find what I needed, and now I'm pretty excited just to see if my runs make it in. 8)
And I'm pretty sure WeaponLord went to my Twitter and found my pinned tweet about being both a gamer and a feminist. Awesome job bringing that up completely unprovoked, WeaponLord.
The name's Amy! I've been streaming for almost three years off and on, and in the past month have taken up a little bit of speedrunning as part of my repertoire on Twitch. I'm looking forward to new challenges as a gamer, and I already have two runs ready to submit to the site as soon as I figure it out. 8)
