Hey everyone, I just decided to get into speedrunning. Been going back and forth between a few games. Wanted to do Zelda or Super Mario 64, but I've accepted that it will take a long time before I'm amazing with a N64 controller, but the Resident Evil series has been nice to me. I'm looking for basically any help at all. I've watched a few streams but since they typically don't get into the hard specifics I feel lost. These are the main things I wish to achieve at the moment and just some info on me in general. 1- Want to take this one chapter at a time. What that means is I plan on training for each chapter and it's parts over and over until I feel like I've mastered it. 2-I know the location of, and confident to say, every enemy and every item. 3-I know people do a lot of management with Sheva, but I'm not the best in the world. Any tips and tricks for that in specific? Positive she's losing me more time than what should be. 4-This is very specific, but in 1-1 where you are facing off against all of those Majini and the Executioner, how in the hell do people achieve any time less than 8:50-9:00? I'm positive everything up into that point I'm doing correctly, but during the large fight i've noticed that sometimes it takes FOREVER, sometimes a full 8 minutes or more until help comes and blows the gate up, I don't know the reason for this. I've tried many different things. Killing almost all the Majini just seconds after the Executioner spawns, killing people at a reasonable pace where by the end a decent few remain, I run around relatively often and there are times where i stand completely still, I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. 5-I'm doing the Xbox 1 Version. Although it is for a different console than what is normal, the code is basically the same, the only thing that has changed is the addition of a few modes, increased framerate, and that's it. The leaderboard times even match up close to what the current World record is. I've watched several streams of Xbox 1 players and no heavy glitches are being made either.
