hello
i've been retired from speedrunning for years so i pretty much come here only to promote people to supermod at their request basically
with that being said, zironic is now a supermod and scy is now a verifier
have fun kthxbye
(also please don't try to contact me for verifying runs, instead you should contact zironic/scy/whoever else is active)
Bloxing Over It. Too much of a casual to beat the game (especially when it doesn't save) but I think it would be great for more of the better speedrunners who are looking for more of a challenge in ROBLOX speedrunning.
RIP my notifications. Also is ro-speedrunning really that big of a thing now where we're debating about splicing and TAS?
So theoretically we can't do any more runs in Pre-Patch? RIP.
Also requesting a leaderboard wipe for any% as well. The little sister gets abducted in the first cutscene when you talk to her in the dream, with extra dialogue and stuff. Also I do second the inclusion of adding the in-game timer to be recorded alongside the run if the player wishes.
I start counting frames from when the runner selects the button to enter the game (if that makes sense).
Eh, I'll make you a mod. You're more active than I am and you know what you're doing.
This game is suddenly picking up popularity as we were featured in the EZScape video, so I'm going to open up mod positions. Just say why you want to be one in the comments, maybe include any runs you've done, and any past moderator experience. You should know how to retime runs if needed (adding/subtracting milliseconds from the time by counting frames on Youtube by pressing "," and ".").
I did a R64 run earlier as well, I think we just need to add it soon. There's a high demand for it, and it's one of the better made ROBLOX games.
I want to run this game and I've been having this issue too. It's very frustrating when you can't even do the simplest levels because your character freaks out on you.
If you use a Mac like me, llanfair is your best bet.
Is this what ROBLOX speedrunning has come to?
Yes, you heard that right. You either know me from my time here as a moderator of different games, my most recent runs in John Doe: The Reawakening, How Smart Are You?, or you don't, because you're new here, in which I bid you a welcome.
My first reason is because of my computer. It gets older and different things take up more space, so things (especially applications that are kinda laggy) get harder to speedrun, as you need to run Roblox, Llanfair, and QuickTime Player all at the same time. My computer just can't handle it.
Secondly, speedrunning is a very draining and tiring progress, and that's just fact. When you're trying to improve your runs on a computer that can't handle three bulky apps at the same time over and over again, it get boring, monotonous, etc.
This is generally the reason why I'm resigning from speedrunning. Feel free to beat any of my records if you want, just don't delete them from the leaderboards please. And I will definitely come back if I can, this isn't permanent. Shoutouts to TheBronzeSword, camelogical, Overworld, Ghost, Yogurt, Flutter, and TechNation. Ro-speedrunning wouldn't be the same without them.
Thank you for the wonderful times I've had here. I wish you all with good RNG, take care, and goodbye.
When you've run out of games to speedrun so you decide to spend your time to play this...
I didn't make it because I figured someone would've beaten me to it. My category requests is "All Cassettes", and all (or at least some) of the badges. I might do a run once I get comfortable with this game.
I think we, as a community, should make a ROBLOX game. By speedrunners, for speedrunners. It would probably be a platformer and definitely speedrun-friendly (as in things like having an in-game timer). Thoughts?
Here's a new leaderboard update, intended to make navigation smoother. As of the time of this post, the update has not completely rolled out yet, so bear with us. I have also decided that Any% NG+ will be kept.
If your video was somehow lost in this update, please re-upload your video to the corresponding category.
- “All Checkpoints” has been renamed to “100%”
- “All Stages, No Checkpoints” has been renamed to “99%” (Reason: You’re not hitting the checkpoints, which takes away a small fraction of the game)
- “Any% - Gear” is now a standalone category, renamed as “Modified any%”
- “Any% - No Gear” is now a standalone category, renamed as “any%"
- "Any% NG+" has been added to “Modified any%” as a subcategory of “Paths”
- “Modified any%” will also have a “No Paths” subcategory
- "Paths" (subcategory of Modified any%) will no longer accept runs that use items besides paths. My reasoning for this is because you could easily get a double-WR because you upload to both "Paths" and "No Paths".
- Categories remaining in "Miscellaneous" have been fused into one category - "Directional". The remaining categories will act as subcategories.
- Updated various rules so they matched up with the present terminology.
