Are we able to submit runs using this system as it is a FPGA based system? And if so are submissions "nes" for og cart and "emu" for everdrive ?

I really don't want to drag my old CRT back in the house , also all my capture cards are for hdmi, are runs on the Retrousb avs fine for submission? and if so would you be submitting "nes" if playing og cart and "emu" for everdrive subs?

I am new to speedrunning and livesplit so this might be a noob question, but how are people switching the splits seemingly hands free? usb pedal? secondary person hitting the hot keys?
