Shaman Stone, Soul Eater, and Soul twister are the most beneficial combo, allowing you to spam spells with relatively few nail hits in-between. From there you can either take Dreamweilder, for even more soul, or Nail Master's Glory, if you prefer to rely on nail arts.
I don't believe nailmaster's glory is used in many speedruns, mostly because it takes a very long time to get (requires all 3 nail arts and an extra trip to sly). 1XX categories are the only ones on the main board that would have the charm and I believe in most sections have a very limited amount of charm notches that are better saved for charms that have more practical speedrun applications.
However I'm interested in learning more about the glitch. I'm not sure if this would be some form of early control, or bench storage. The former could be a minor glitch allowed in NMG runs, the later would be a major glitch only allowed in glitched runs. They would have slightly different potential as well. Have you noticed anything weird after leaving the bench? Does the knight still stand up as it normally does? Are you allowed to equip/unequip charms after you leave the bench? Let me know
Toast, contrary to what others might say, I do not believe a single guide for 1432 glitches, (especially on console) exists. I wish I could help you but honestly, I'm not quite sure what it is that you're trying to accomplish. I think inventory storage is the glitch that allows you to open your inventory in places you aren't supposed to, which in older patches is easily used to do out of bounds movement and even room duplications. To my knowlege, it definitely does not work the same on current patch, but this may not even be the glitch you're talking about.

There you can ask your question and have people who actually understand current patch glitches answer you fairly swiftly! If you explain exactly what you are trying to do, I'm sure someone will have and answer. Good luck
@Bigbrain At the top of this page you'll see a discord symbol underneath the "follow" option for the game. Clicking that will bring you to the official speedrunning discord where we have lots of great resources for new runners.
But if you just wanted to do runs for yourself, every speedrun starts with a game and an accurate timer. You don't need to record or submit your run to speedrun. You don't need an official rout, you can just get stopwatch, start the game, and do your best to finish it quickly.
Note: do not use the in-game timer (including the time shown for saves in the main menu), it does not function properly.
Don't listen to RandomStuff, you can do Queens Garden Acid Skip on any patch or platform, if it strikes your fancy.

the reason you don't see most console runs do QGA skip is that
- Tight tricks are harder with input lag
- The patch that console is forced to run makes queens gardens rout less optimal (though at the highest level it still is faster) and causes the sporeshroom charm to be overpowered against The Hollow Knight specifically

Keybinds are mostly a personal choice, especially if you are on keyboard. Some people use WASD for movement, some people use the arrow keys. Both are represented by top players at the highest level of the game. So is controller, if you're considering using that.
I would say whatever you do, make sure your settup allows for combining certain actions with movement. Nail swinging while jumping, casting spells as you're moving/changing direction., etc. As long as you can do that eventually, your keybinds should be fine!
Hello! My understanding is that with perfect or near perfect execution spore shroom rout is just barely slower (10-20s), but it's important consider that it will also be significantly easier for most people. Not only is qga skip difficult, but the petra arenas are slower in current patch, and the thorn warp that saves several seconds is patched out. Because of this, unless you're willing to put in enough practice to reliably execute queens garden rout perfectly, you will probably save time by going with sporeshroom, I know I did
GG on your run, Fireb0rn's any% guide ( ) actually covers a few of the glitches you had trouble with, including the dreamnail softlock and the jump height being eaten before false knight. The floating in water glitch in spire comes from falling into the transition after the dash. GL in future runs
