Hi, I'm new to this game and am currently starting/thinking about running it. At the moment I'm using the autosplitter to time the beginning. Not sure if anyone is still reading here, but I think I found another glitch, that's not yet listed here:
During the start of the game, after pressing escape in the Intro-Cutscene and the colours faded to black, the autosplit timer starts. If you press escape again at some point, while the screen is still black, the menu will pop up. After closing it with another Esc, you can start moving, while the screen remains black for a few more seconds. This also skips the time where you can see everything , but can't move. In my case it's about 4s faster than waiting through everything. BUT: The "F1 for Hints" bubble appears after a fixed amount of time. And if you do this mini skip here, you are already passed the trigger, that removes that bubble and are basically stuck with it as far as I can see.
Still, this might also work in other area transitions or auto-movements; haven't tested too much on it yet. And it is also kind of relevant for the timing of the beginning.
If this was confuse mumbling, I'll take some screenshots.
By definitions of the rules, one of the runs allows for glitches, one doesn't. However: I know of glitches used (and couldn't find any in the runs), apart from a place where a stuttering of the game accelerates the player. But that is also visible in the glitchless run and is not used to improve the time. So I don't see a problem there.
Concerning the Any% and 100%: The 100%/Any% is rather misleader as there are no '%' in the game. There is a highscore which is ignored in both run rules and is completely irrelevant.
So I would consider all the existing runs to be the same type and merging them should be fair.
I'd be okay with being a mod (if necessary); but I have no experience with being a mod.
Hi,
Not sure if I should have posted this in the "Leaderboards moderation requests thread" or separate, since it's connected to an inactive mod. Theoretically I don't (necessarily) want to be a moderator...
So the actual problem: There are two instances of the same game "Light":
The moderator of the first one has been inactive for quite some time (> 1 year). The moderator of the second instance has been active more recently and actually added the category I suggested in the forum of the first instance.
Nonetheless, there are two instances of the same game which probably shouldn't be the case. Is there a way to merge the leaderboards (ideally without anyone losing their time)?
Thank you very much Vehemens
Hi,
nice to see, there is someone (actively) speedrunning this game. However, i think this is kind of a duplicate. There is already a page for the game: https://www.speedrun.com/LIGHT
Though the mod has been inactive for a year now. I've never bothered to contact the admins about it. Didn't find the time for it. That's why I still have a run pending there...
Since there aren't many runners anyway, it would be nice to merge the sites.
Greetings Vehemens
