I've been looking to learning speedrunning for this game for ages, but the latest guide that's up is for pc version. I've googled but I can't find where to get this version of the game, any help?

Can we add FF7-FF8-FF9 category (Honor relay that elbody does) and maybe FF7-FF8-FF9 booster% (Dishonor relay, that myself and elbody races sometimes)

Hi, I was just wondering how to get my podcast featured on the podcast section of the site? I'm starting a podcast called "The Speedrunner Podcast" that'll be released later this week and I'd like to promote it on the podcast section of speedrun.com

The main goal is to discuss speedrunning, routes, categories, tools etc but the second goal is to promote the speedrunners out there and introduce new people to the runners so more people get interessted in speedrunning.

I don't want to post the link here because I don't know if i'm even posting this under the right forum or if it's even allowed.

I'm fairly sure, i remember trying it a few years back. Spending hours on trying to get it. But regardless: i'm the only one "running" PAL so there's no point in it really.

Maybe just combine the categories and add an option to say if you played ont NTSC or PAL when you submit

How about we combine the PAL and glitchless categories to one category called glitchless?

It doesn't make sense to have the PAL category since no-one is running it and you essentially can't do any HE glitches or other on PAL.

Anyone against this?

I'd say the "start timer" could also be as soon as you press the button to load the save file. But i think we could just keep it at when you use the beetle key, it also makes sense.

As for intro skip i have no problem it being a misc category, it's a "good" category to practice your runs without having to waste 10min every time at the start, but definetly shouldn't be a main category.

Emulator, console or both allowed? Thoughts?

I'm kind of abscent from speedrun.com so if anyone more active wants mod tell me, so runs can get verified faster.

Maybe we should make a list in the "Resources" section for all the superstars that are allowed in the different runs. Or list which are original, legends, divas, dlc and so on?

I would also like to know. I have tried to learn, but I can't even get past the first level using the glitches.

I've been doing some research on the run with different emulators.

It would seem that ePSXE 1.9 is about 2-3minutes slower than using psxFin 1.3. This is mainly because ePSXE also emulates loading times between screen whereas psxFin does not. Hence the huge time difference between the two.

So I would like to claim that runs made using ePSXE should be validated through a console category and not emulator.

This is not a big issue at all, just some thoughts I had.

Hi I've only just gotten into speedrunning this game and I would think it'd be awesome if the moderator could add the categories "normal" & "hard" aswell. Because I'm currently only running on normal, but I'm planning on doing hard and harder if I get good enough.

It's a small request but it would be awesome for me at least :)

Also I'm running the steam version, through "SEGA Genesis & Mega Drive Classics"
