i take it all back, a lot of people here are a-holes with nothing better to do but pick on runs that nobody has ran in 12 years

its roger rabbit on the nes, it's not metroid, castlevania or a mario game. im the only person even attempting to run this game! lol. technically the savestate is before the run begins. there are no savestates during the run, no tas during the run, i play the game as any would.

He's referring to me in a recent Roger Rabbit WR run i did. if you know this game, you know how incredibly random it is. i used 1 save state at the beginning of the game with an original cart on the Retron 5 to keep the randomness to a low, and allow me to actually speedrun the game. i dont see a problem with this and if others want to do the same with this game go ahead! if you can find a better item setting and get a better time please do! i want more runners on this game as it's a great game when you know what to do

Hello, could someone please inform me on the difference between different timings in speedrunning? i saw a post somewhere but cant find it now :(

Is SDA timing from the moment you take control of the character sprite until the moment you lose control of the sprite?

And is RTA timing from the moment you push the start button?

if there's a game you really enjoy and know a lot about, try speedrunning that one :)

cool! which ever game you want to speedrun, make sure you play it casually for a while first before you head into speedrunning it. have fun my man, let me know how you are going no matter which game you choose. :)

it's a game that can be done in 11-12 minutes, i currently am trying to get under 15mins. it's not easy but a lot of fun. speedrun a short game first

i would, yeh. it's what i started with. i'm not focused on world records, i know i cant do that lol but Castlevania is fun game to play. like i said i watched funkdocs runs on youtube before i even considered speedrunning. but i love the game and wanted to give it a go and was alot of fun learning the strats. and i believe it's a good game to figure out what speedrunning is all about. play it for a while casually and see if you want to progress into speedrunning

i started off playing nes games, you can speedrun heaps old school games in 10 mins or less. which is a good start. keep it simple to start with

Hey guys! I'm new here and so far loving this site and looking forward to the future of it! It's so easy to watch the actual runs, I love it.

I'm in Australia and I'm confident I wont be breaking any records, lol, but I have a lot of joy improving on games I enjoy and getting PBs.

Castlevania (nes), Castlevania 3 : Dracula's Curse (nes) and Who Framed Roger Rabbit? (nes) are my current interests in speed running. Will try others when I need a break from these games! lol.
