Hey,

I've seen you've added a new Misc category called "45 Classics" and I believe it's related to the ongoing speedrun event called the Ultime Decathlon where Action Henk is one of the ten games to speedrun and where the category used is called "45 First Classics".

However there is a minor discrepancy between the rules on speedrun.com and the Ultime Decathlon website. For the Ultime Decathlon, the timer starts when the first map "Hello World" is selected in the menu and not when the player presses "Play" in the menu.

There's also a typo in the rules : instead of "in the 7 story batches of the game", you should write "in the 9 story batches of the game".

On another note, I really hope the Ultime Decathlon will help the growth of the Action Henk speedrun community. I discovered the game thanks to the Ultime Decathlon and I am already a Henk addict !

4 months ago we switched to Real Time without Loads as the default timing method on all Trackmania² games thanks to an autosplitter and load remover created by my friend Nekz; But some bugs were found during All Flags speedruns while we were using the old autosplitter. In addition, due to a recent Maniaplanet 4 update, the autosplitter v1 stopped working.

Nekz and I have worked hard during the past weeks to create a bugless second autosplitter and load remover. This autosplitter v2 brings 4 major updates to the old one:

The way of functioning of the autosplitter has been completely revamped: in the autosplitter v1, we had to list the checkpoints count of each track. By reading the game code, the autosplitter would split on the last checkpoint of the map (the finish line). We had some splitting issues with this method. The new method we introduce in the autosplitter v2 is slightly different: Nekz found a value in the game code that indicates if a track is not played (value=0), is played (value=1) or is finished (value=2). The autosplitter automatically detects the change between the value 1 and the value 2 to split exactly when the track is finished (when you cross the finish line). This new method should kill splitting bugs. If you encounter any splitting bugs, please report them to me on Discord (RastaBobby#2025).

The autosplitter now works not only on Nadeo official solo campaigns but also on usermade solo campaigns thanks to the following option in the autosplitter settings interface in Livesplit: “Auto split detection for unofficial maps”. This way you could have fun speedrunning MrDVD’s solo campaigns or Spam’s upcoming solo campaign :D If some of these usermade solo campaigns encounter a lot of success, we might add these as official categories on speedrun.com.

We are proud to introduce splits landmarks: you can now choose on which tracks you'd like to split during the speedrun.. This feature allows you to split on every track for a short speedrun or every 2, 3, 5 or 15 tracks for example on a long speedrun like on All Flags speedrun.

The autosplitter continues to work properly after a game crash: all you’ll have to do is to exit the game (use Alt-F4 or Ctrl-Alt-Delete if needed), to restart it and to relaunch the last track you were playing before the crash happened.

The speedrunning rules for Trackmania² games have also been clarified. Nekz and I truly hope this new update will bring more players to speedrun Trackmania games and that it will lead to the creation of a Trackmania speedrun community.

Yo stoned drivers, it's RastaBobby! Since months you've requested a new timing method which would be more fair to all players than the old Real Time with loads timing method, you wanted no difference between someone with the latest SSD gaming computer and someone with a basic computer.

We listened to your feedback and we introduced InGame Time as the default timing method on all Trackmania games a few months ago. Even tho this is the fairest timing method, it had a great flaw: calculating the InGame Time for a speedrun is such a painful experience. You can directly do it during your speedrun with a Manual Game Time component on Livesplit but your speedrun will take more time or you could do it after doing your speedrun by rewatching the VOD and calculating the total game time. All of this was done manually.

But, and there's a but, we haven't explored yet the 3rd timing method available on this website: I'm talking about Real Time without loads. This method can only be used with an autosplitter and a load remover on Livesplit, which is a little script which analyses the game code while you're speedrunning and which autosplits every time you finish a track. The load remover inside the same script pauses the timer while the game is loading the following track and it resumes the timer when the track is fully loaded.

And we finally have this divine instrument! NekZ did a hard work to create the 1st Livesplit-compatible autosplitter and load remover for all Trackmania² Games (Canyon, Stadium, Valley, Lagoon). This technology marvel, after you'll set it up to the category you'll be speedrunning, will autostart the timer once you have finished loading the 1st map of this category in the numerical order. It will autosplit each time you cross the finish line of a map and it will autostops on the finish line of the last map of the speedrunning category. On your Livesplit layout, you can now display 2 timers, the first one will be displaying Real Time WITH loads and the second one will be displaying Real Time WITHOUT loads thanks to this load remover. If you look in the resources and if you download the Trackmania splits file and my personal layout, you'll see your splits times with two times columns: the first column entitled "Time" will display the splits times in RTA without loads and the second column entitled "RTA" will display the splits times in RTA with loads.

This autosplitter & load remover revolution will take place on all the Trackmania games in the following days or weeks, the switch from IGT to RTA w/o loads has only be made on TM² Stadium yet, we need to be sure the autosplitter is working on all categories for the other games.

The tutorial on how to speedrun Trackmania games with this autosplitter and load remover is already available in English with French subtitles on my personal Youtube channel.

10 days ago, on May 9th 2017, there has been the biggest update in the history of Trackmania: Maniaplanet 4 is live, with lots of graphic changes but also changes in game physics. For example, at the start and maybe during the whole track, the cars in all the TM² games have a faster acceleration than before the update. Some bugs have been rectified like landing bugs on Stadium and there has been new blocks and corrections to existing blocks.

All these changes affect loading times, menu navigation and your scores on tracks. But it has been decided to not make a distinction between the old and the new speedruns on TM² games. We might see a lot of IGT records in the following days due to the better game physics. Maybe old RTA times are unreachable with Maniaplanet 4 but we'll keep it like that. For now, the default rankings are still based on In Game Time. In the future, there might be Livesplit scripts for Trackmania games, allowing speedrunners to autosplit after each track and to remove loading times while keeping menu navigation. If so, RTA without loads might become the new default timing method (calculating IGT manually is way too painful!).

I'm the one who brought The Crew alive into the speedrunning world last month. I did not take a lot of time to set up categories so here is all the information you'll need to speedrun The Crew:

General information:

Always try to mention the vehicles you used in your speedrun attempts (with the spec)

A video footage is necessary, screenshots won't be accepted. We advice you to use OBS to record your game.

About Faction Missions:

Less than 10 minutes: this speedrun includes all of the concerned faction missions. We use the ingame timer to get the times and we sum up the times for all the missions to get the final result (it will be expressed in InGame time (IGT))

Above 10 minutes: these speedruns include only one mission each, the ingame timer is used and no external timing software is needed

About "Visiting the USA" speedruns:

These speedruns are based on freedrive challenges I've created, they will offer you a good look of the USA and of its remarkable places. The ingame timer is also used, no external timing software is needed. Vehicle changes are allowed during the run.

I'm doing this post really quick so I might edit this post in the future to add more information.

Hello guys, I'm RastaBobby, the new speedrunning mod for the Trackmania games.

As you may have noticed, all Trackmania games except Turbo were using RTA (real time with loads) as their default timing method while Turbo is using IGT (ingame time) because loading times on consoles are significantly longer than on any computer.

Many Trackmania speedrunners told me they would like to see IGT as the default timing method for all Trackmania games because RTA rankings are mostly based on loading times for short speedruns like on many Trackmania speedruns. I think most of us agree that navigating fast in a menu to change the map doesn't determine if a speedrunner is good or not and we all know that loading times are random and based on your computer performance.

That's why we've decided to put IGT at the default timing method for all Trackmania games except the TM² games to make rankings more accurate and fair.

Don't worry, all your past speedruns will remain on the website, the mods and some volunteers will calculate the IGT for all these past runs to make the new rankings.

I hope you’ll enjoy these changes and I hope we’ll see more runs on Trackmania games in the future.

Hey, I've renamed previous Trackmania United to Trackmania United Forever on the Trackmania series (TMUF was released in 2008 and all the current speedruns were made on it) and I added Trackmania United (2006) but the Display Picture shown is the TMUF one. i've tried to change it with the cover settings but it didn't work... Here's the correct DP for this game (TMU): http://bit.ly/2i7BFqy . It would be nice if you could change it :D
