Due to increasing submission of runs from various platforms, an entire overhaul of the leaderboards is taking place It was not possible to merge, or label categories within categories for the full game leaderboard. I could break it down into tabs, with SNES, Genesis, etc, but from there, I cannot assign sub categories such as difficulties and mystery racer. This can only be done from the level leaderboard.
Please be patient as I import all runs to the categories they belong.
Had a run recently submitted, first one played on the Sega Genesis! As timing is different from SNES to Genesis, a new category had to be created.
By popular demand, a debug category has been added. This means that any runs under the full game category, with debug enabled, will be removed, I am going to do my best to move them all to the proper category, but some may be lost due to old or expired links.
Any further questions please post here.
Upon further consideration, I am leaning toward making this happen. The only issue is making sure things do not get too crowded here and we do not lose any of the currently submitted runs, I will have to overhaul the currently used format here. Will begin work on this in the coming week, look for updates!
Categories are a bit tricky for this game. It will be considered.
Its is currently dependent upon the system the game is being run on. SGB time ends at final input after Isis convo. GBA time ends at Arsenal.
Something worth noting, the password commonly found for this category is only for the Rookie difficulty. In fact I do not believe there exists any online resource for a password that unlocks the mystery racer on Veteran and Warrior. The only way to obtain one would be for someone to hack the games code and produce a specialty password.
If anyone is up to the task of actually doing that, I would use it to run the mystery racer Veteran and Warrior categories.
Rules updated as to clear up any confusion as to when time starts and ends.
"Do we know that those are the actual max population possible for those categories? specially with Zone Stacking, which involves complex positioning. Wouldn't be easier for those categories to check by a multiple of 100k? like 1100k."
The highest I have seen is 1,190,000, with zone stacking, and since it was not a timed run, it has no place here. The highest I have seen without zone stacking is 956k, but this was in the year 5000 or later, so frame skip was used and it took an immense and undocumented amount of time to get there I am sure. Until anyone actually records and submits a run for those categories, I doubt they will be run by anyone else except maybe myself and a select few others. As for determining the highest number of population, that can only be done once a run is submitted and a mark is reached. As of now, the 812k is the highest I have seen for the standard, full game category, but I am certain it could go higher and speed strats could cut time below 3 hours.
Freeland and Glitchless categories have been added under the Level Leaderboard tab on the left, below the full game. This has been a unique game to moderate for speedruns, unlike the other games I have had to attend to. As such, I have also amended the rules for each category to make things more clear for our runners.
Enjoy, should get a few new racers with this one, and it should also cut down on time in Veteran and Warrior and makes things much faster.
The mystery racer which can only be accessed by password will now be available as a separate category for speedruns, enjoy.
We need individual console categories, because the newer releases have better gear than the older ones. I am starting to speedrun the game on PS3 now.. I feel we should have the categories separated into release versions. I will be speedrunning Act 1-5 rift, keywarden and bounty. Would be nice to have a category to contribute these future runs for. Perhaps even a co-op category, or a category for non modded gear as the cheaters are everywhere now.
This is my PB for A1 Rift. Lets make this happen? I have a community of non modded PS3 runners who are also interested in this.
Olaf is seen as "in bounds" for the categories currently run. I was not aware there were any other cheats for the game aside from the password enabling the mystery racer with the +1 to all stats. What cheats do you refer to?
Runners or forum goers will decide, I vote to keep the category as it can help newbies to speedrunning the game practice.
Can someone please address this issue? I have mod experience here and will add the new categories right away if I can be added. It appears the moderators there never check the forum...
