This is something I've been wanting to know for a very long time. How do the ghosts know what direction to turn when they are in frightened mode? The typical response is that it's random movement, which is impossible. If the ghosts took random directions when they were frightened, it would be like Ms Pac-Man, where you can't use patterns. Since you can use patterns, where the ghosts pick the same options each time in frightened mode, does it have to do with the location of Pac-Man/orientation of Pac-Man or something along those lines? I was really curious about this, but cannot seem to figure it out. I'd assume it's a false RNG that is designed in a way that makes it feel as if it is random, when really it just bases off of unexpected factors in the game.

I've read through the rules, an it only states that it must be the arcade version of the game on a proper emulator, with any settings. I use a pattern that involves making use of the way the game registers a death, to pass through Blinky near the right hand tunnel. It is not a hack, but since it involves passing through an enemy, I wanted to verify whether it was usable or not. It can be done on any vanilla version of the original Pac-Man arcade rom, on default settings.

Would this forfeit a run? I understand the moderators are strict on what goes and what doesn't, so I don't want to risk anything by uploading the game anyways. The rules also do not state needing a timer over the gameplay, and a few of the other runs don't have timers placed over them, but I wanted to verify anyways.

Here is what I'm attempting to qualify for. Note, I'm running on Arcade, not NES. https://www.speedrun.com/pac-man#10000_Points
