The Shire
- Gandalf text mash
- Exit Bilbo's House
- Head West to obtain the firecrackers (If you feel you need the Shield Rune then destroy the boards on the well with the firecrackers and obtain it from the chest)
- Head East past Bilbo's house and sneak (R) past the dog and head South through the gate
- Continue east and enter the Green Dragon Inn
- Talk to the hobbit sitting at the table
- Return to Bilbo's house
- Dwarf text mash
- Exit Bilbo's house
- Go to the Green Dragon Inn
Lone-Lands

Follow the path East and make your way North. Continue North until you reach a large gathering of rocks on the ground then head East until you exit to the next screen.

Drop down from the ledge to the right of the cave and continue South until you can enter some ruins to your right.

Drop down from the ledge and push the 4 stones onto the outlines in the floor. Climb the logs that have just appeared from the floor and continue East. Climb the ledges and exit the ruins

Head East and activate Thorin's text. Continue East and enter the ruins to your right

In the ruins you will have to once again push some stones and statues into outlines squares on the floor. On the second level there will be a switch you need to hit to activate a bridge on the third level; as well as a switch on the third level that will activate a bridge on the fourth level. On the fourth level you will obtain the Tinder And Flint.. Exit the ruins

Head South and cross the river. Continue South until you reach a dead end with a large tree and head East. Follow this path North East then South until you reach another ruin.

Go to the room to the West. In this room you will have to move three statues into different outlines squares on the floor. Once complete return to the main room and instead go to the room to the East. In this room you will have to climb to ledges and light the oil fountain using your Tinder and Flint (A). Return to the main room and enter through the Northern door that is now unlocked. You will encounter three switched that must be pulled in the following order: BOTTOM, TOP, MIDDLE. This will extend a bridge that will allow you to obtain the Thunder-Claps. You will automatically be teleported back to Thorin at the wall.

Equip your Thunder-Claps and destroy the wall North of you. Make you're way North then head North-East until you exit the screen. Follow this path and use a Thunder-Clap on the cracked wall to break it and climb up. Head East, drop down from the ledge, then continue east to the next screen.

Climb, then drop into the area full of wasps. After defeating them, a larger wasp will challenge you. Once you defeat it, continue north via the path that has opened. Continue East and speak with Thorin.

Continue East and walk up to the trolls to activate the text. Once you regain movement, head south and push the square stone either from the left or right to obtain a key. Once you have this key head North and open the cave door.

Head to the room to the East and move the square stone onto the square outline on the floor. Return to the main room and enter the newly opened room to the North-West. (If you're low on Thunder-Claps you can push a square stone in this room that will allow you to get some from a chest) Continue up this path until you reach the treasure room. Walk up to the barrels and Thorin and Gandalf will show up. (If you want you can pick up the Skill Rune that is in the left chest in the room to the North-West. The right chest contains Thunder-Claps.) Use a Thunder-Clap on the wall to the right of Gandalf to obtain Sting.
The Wilds

Hit the switch to the east to extend a bridge. Continue East, then North to a screen with a large square rock. Push this large rock into the water in order to cross and continue east. Talk to the old man and receive the key to his cottage. Return West, and cross the river once again. Make you're way South and enter the old man's cottage.

Defeat all rats in the cottage. There are 27 total spread over the three rooms. In the main room you will verse waves of rats; 2,4, then 6. In the room to the North you just need to defeat the rats as normal. In the room to the West the rats will hide and you must press A next to the object they hide under to reveal them. After defeating all the rats the old man will return to his cottage and give you the code to enter Rivendell, which is ELROND.

Exit the Cottage and return to the area where you first met the old man across the river. Continue East and speak with Galdalf who will give you some rocks. You MUST throw a rock before Gandalf will allow you to leave the screen. After throwing the rock continue East. Follow the path until you reach a large semi circle of pink flowers that edge the cliffside. You will have to hang off the ledge to the South here and drop down onto a small ledge bellow. Follow this path and fall through the hole at the bottom.

Defeat all the bats and continue South. IGNORE the switch that is in the next room and continue on. In the room after, hit the switch on the wall then continue South. You will have to take on the... Water In The Water? Note that you cant deal damage while there are rocks falling from the ceiling. Do your best to avoid this and heal as needed. After defeating it you can use it's head to cross the gap and continue to the West. (The chest in this next room with the save contain a Health increase) Continue South until you exit the cave.

Head to the North-East and continue to take the path East. (The cave covered in thorns can be destroyed with a firecracker or Thunder-Clap. The cave contain a chest in the North-Eastern corner that has a Skill Rune) Continue East, then North to the bridge. Enter E-L-R-O-N-D and continue East.
Rivendell
- Exit the food hall to the South, Descend the stairs, and leave. Head to the East and climb the stairs. Continue East and talk to the elf to participate in a target practice mini game. The mini game doesn't end at a certain amount, however you do need 10 targets before the timer runs out. Return to the Food Hall and speak with Elrond.
Misty Mountain

Take the path North until you reach a green tree to your left. To the right of this tree are some vines on the wall that you need to climb. Continue taking this path and turn right at the 6 rocks that block your path. Do not continue going East to the next screen, instead climb the ledge and continue to the North until you encounter and Elf. From here continue North-East. Continue East and talk to Thorin. Continue taking the Easter path until you come across some vines and take the Noth-Easter Path. Use you Tinder and Flint to light the oil fountain or you will be unable to enter the cave.

Follow this cave to it's exit. Continue west and climb the ledges. Enter the cave to the North and proceed to exit it at the other side. Climb the ledge and fall into the hole at the North Western part of the cliff.

You will immediately be faced with a cone spider like enemy. Defeating this enemy will give you a key you can use to open the locked door to the North of the room. (The chest in this next room contains a Health Rune) Continue down this path and exit the cave.

Continue West and climb the vines to the North. You will have to drop down on the ledge and move sideways to advance. Continue East and enter the cave with Kili and Fili in it.
Goblin Cave

Head West of your starting position. Continue West until you reach the room with large pillars in it. In this room advance until you see a switch in the distance. You will need to use your rocks in order to hit this switch. Hitting the switch will extend a bridge that you can now cross. Continue West and hit the green switch below you to get rid of the Goblin Guard.

Continue taking this path until the room containing the Goblin that throw things at you. You will want to take the path to the far North-Western part of the room. From here continue west and sneak past all the Sleeping Goblins to obtain a key from a chest on the other side of the room. Return to the previous room and head to the East instead. On the far East side of the room there will be a goblin trapped in a cell. Free him and he will give you a Strength Rune and well as raise the logs in the previous room so you can proceed up the Northern path. From here head West and fall through a crack in the floor roughly around the middle of the room.

Moving at all will acquire you the one ring. Continue to take the only path you can until you encounter Gollum. Continue to follow the path Gollum leads you in until you reach a room full of sleeping goblins. Sneak past them to find a chest containing a key on the North side of the room. Then sneak back and use it on the door in the South-East side of the room; exiting the cave.
(Note: If you take the Northern path and climb the vines the first chest here will contain Thunder-Claps. The second chest contains a Health Rune, and the third chest contains meat.)
- Just the gap to your right then head South by sliding down the rock pile. Head East and talk to the Dwarves. Continue East and slide down the rock pile. Continue west and slide down another two rock piles. Head east and slide down the rock pile again. The path diverges here and you want to take the rock on the LEFT side. Continue East, then North East until you encounter a large Wolf. Defeating the wolf will allow you to continue to the North-East.
Carrock

Head South. Take the Easter path at the large rock (Going South again will lead to a chest containing a Skill Rune). A square stone blocks a chest that contains a Sill Rune. Continue East until you come to a large square rock. Push the rock to the far South set of stones in the water before pushing it into the water. Continue to follow this path until you come to an area with a large tree to the east and a rock to the North-West. You will want to head North at this point. Continue to take this path until you come across a cave you are forced to enter after being surrounded by vines.

In this cave lies a boss that can only be damaged with ranged attacks. Using rocks, the sling, or Thunder-Claps will do. Be wary of the vines that will attack you from the floor. After defeating the boss continue to the East where you will encounter Beorn.

Head to the room on the South-Eastern corner of Beorn's cabin. Light the oil fountain, then move the booshelf and enter the secret area. After moving a second bookshelf you will enter a room with three chests. Open all three chests to recieve Meat, Thinder-Claps, and an Elven Water. Return to the main room of Beorn's Cabin and enter the room on the South-Western side of the cabin. Once again light the fountain and move the bookshelf. This room contains a chest with a Health Rune. Return to Beorn's main room.

Exit Beorn's Cabin. Head East and take the Northern Path. Talk to Beorn to start a game where you must defeat a creature in his garden 10 times. You will be rewarded with an upgraded walking stick. Now return south and take hte Eastern path from the front of Beorn's Cabin. Talk to Beorn.
Mirkwood Forest

Enter the forest and follow the path until you encounter Gandalf. You will have to traverse the swamp using the logs that have no appeared. Once on the other side continue East. Go North, East, North, East until you find the Dwarves. Thorin will ask you to catch some squirrels. Head back to the area where you began going North, East, North, East, and instead take the Eastern path. Defeat 15 Squirrels then return to the Dwarves.

After the dialogue continue up then jump across the platform to the East. You can make a safety save here if you need. Continue East until you find some Elves that disappear. You will now be in a maze like part of the forest littered with spiders. You must rescue the 12 dwarves who have be captured. Follow this route: East, South (1), East (1), North (1), North (1), West (2), South (1), East, East, South (1), North, East (2), West, North (1), North (1), North. After you complete this you will be in the room with the Spider Boss.

Spider Boss is fairly simple. Slash at it's eyes as it is moving into the screen. You can only deal so much damage to one eye, so once it cracks be sure to move to the next one. After defeating the spider head to the North-East and the Dwarves will be captures by the Elves.
Wood Elves The Elven kingdom is another Maze like area so follow this path to reach the Music Box: North, North-East, East, Door at bottom of stairs, North, North-West, North-West, West, North, North, North-East, North-East, North-West, North. In this room there should be four chest. The one on the west of the lower level contains Meat, the one on the east of the lower level contains spring water, the one on the left of the upper level contain the Music Box (This is what you need), and the one on the right contains meat.
Now that you have the Music Box follow these directions: South, South, South-West, South-West. North, North-West, In this room you will have to play the Music Box in order to pass the dog and Continue South, Descend the ladder and head West.
Sneak up to the guards keys and take them before continuing West. Enter the room in the following chambers to free the Dwarves (The only Chamber you can ignore is the one on the bottom right of the first room). While most of these rooms are standard some contain traps. 1 will contain spikes you need to sneak over, 2 will contain pressures plates that will hurl projectiles at you if walked over, and the door to Thorin's cell requires you to push coloured statues onto corresponding flames on the floor.
Once all the Dwarves have been rescued continue West and use the Music Box for the final time. Head North into the Barrel room and place each Dwarf in a barrel and lower them into the river. Once you've done this stand on the trap door and throw a rock at the switch.
Lake Town
Once you reach your destination head to the East. An old man will as you to retrieve his dog for him. Continue East then North once you find the dog. Follow this path until the dog is returned. Once you return the dog you will be given a Rune that allows you to jump further distances. Continu South to Lake Town.
Head North and jump the gap West to the dogs. Continue taking the North path until you encounter an elf. Head South until you reach two sets of stairs. Descend the first set of stairs and head North ( if you follow the second stairs and hop across the pillars in the water there is a Health Rune). Jump the gap and head North. Continue on this path until you reach the ferryman.
Lonely Mountain Head West, then North. Climb the mountain North until you reach Thorin then head North-East. Follow this path until you come to a fork. Continue on the upper route of this fork. Continue until you encounter the Smaug text while climbing the Vines. Make you're way back to where you encountered Thorin and drop down on the ledge to follow the newly open path West. Continue to take this path North until you come across a log suspended by a rope. Use you're sling to break the rope and continue down the path until you reach the dwarves. Talk to Thorin to receive a key then use it on the wall directly north of Thorin.
Smaug's Cave Taking the path, almost, directly in front of you (Once in the next room if you enter the door directly to your right it will lead you to a chest with a Health Rune) Continue North until you enter the room with Smaug. Use the ring and sneak under Smaug's head to collect the poorly textured and hard to see Goblet. Once acquired you will return to Thorin.
Make your way back to the treasure room. Smaug will catch you and begin to breath his fire. Make your escape from the mountain. Once Smaug leaves for Lake Town return to the treasure room and head North East. Continue down this path and collect the arkenstone. Climb the ledge again and continue down this path. Head North at the large set of stairs (continuing down the path will get you a Mithril Vest).
Head West, then West again and cross the rafts to the north where you will find a switch. Return across the rafts and take the South-Easter exit. Head North and the locked door will now be opened. Continue down this path until you encounter Thorin and the villagers. Push the rocks into the River. Head to the North-East and continue down this path until you reach a cave. (Entering the cave and doing a skill test will grant you a Shield Rune from a chest).
Make your way back to the entrance of the Mountains and take over the guard watch. Head South until you reach an area with a dead tree and a path leading North and Sout. Take the Northern path to acquire the Bladed Walking Stick from a chest. Continue making your way south until you reach some bushes that can be briefly destroyed with the bladed walking stick. Continue East to get a key from a chest. Return west and make your way North to use the key on the entrance to the tombs.
The Tombs Take the Western path. Defeat the ghosts and continue to the room with switches. The switches must be hit in this order: Upper Right, Lower Left, Upper Left, Lower Right. Continue forward and move the square stone into the outline on the floor. Climb then ledge and continue to the west. Sneak across the spikes and hit the switch. Move the statue onto the outline on the floor then continue to the South.
Head to the newly opened door on the East side of the room. Hit the two switches and move the square stone onto then blue switch then continue east. Use your sling to hit the three switches and collect a key from the chest. Return to the main room and open the chest in the middle of the room to obtain the Diamond of Dale. Exit the Tombs.
Head East and light all the oil fountains along your way on the wall. Continue through the wooden door and enter the tomb to the right of the tree. Climb the ledges in front of you and light the fountains, then continue to follow the given path West until you reach a room with a shaking chest. Open the chest and defeat the ghost within to obtain a key. Return to the previous room and use the key on the Northern door. This room will contain a series of switches that should be pushed in the following order:

Enter the newly opened path to obtain the Garnet of Girion. Exit the Tomb. Enter the tomb on the far east side of the screen. Move a square stone to the north on the left side. Use a thunder-clap to destroy the wall then move the stone over the blue switch. Use a firecracker on a skull on the North-Western side of the room to reveal a third switch. Move the square stone onto this switch. Move the square stone to the final switch on the right side. Climbthe ledges and hit the switch to open the door to the north. Continue through the door and complete the next puzzle. You must move three statues in to a specific order as determined by the layout on the right of the room. Once this is done hit tehn switch that appeared and it will show three more switches that you must hit in this order: Left, Right, Middle. After this you will have to hit the switches again in this order: Right, Middle, Middle, Left, Right. One more pattern must be switched in this order: Right, Left, Middle, Left, Left, Middle, Right. Once you've completed this continue forward and collect the Orb of Erebor. Exit the Tombs. Make your way south and enter the three gems into their proper place in the wall. Continue South and enter the Tent to talk to Bard. Talk to Gandalf.
Battle Make you're way South down the mountain until you are ambushed by 6 goblins. Skip this fight and continue South where you will have to take on more waves of goblins. Once instructed head South once again. It may be hard to get past the goblins but the ring may help here. Continue until you reach another shield battle. Continue South then head West when blocked by the wolves. This will lead you to the final battle of the game.
