14:25:22 -> 12:08:49! (-2:16:33)
After a month of grinding, I ran back the 242 for the 2nd time. I'm super happy about this run, not only did I fix up many major mistakes but I also showed off cool strats that I didn't do the first time (mainly infinite flutter stuff). I skipped 8:xx and even 7:5x in 120, and got a sub 4 in Greens. Had I not selected GS1 in Flip-Out for GS2, it definitely would've been a 3:55 but hey, it's not a big deal. I can always run the category back on its own for 3:4x.
For a run that's half a day long, there were obviously going to be new major mistakes which costed me sub 12: 6 minutes in Boss Blitz C 4 minutes in Galaxy Generator C 3 minutes in Fleet Glide 1, Flip Swap C and The Perfect Run 2 minutes in Supermassive C 1 minute in Flash Black C, Sky Station C and Space Storm GS3 plus other mini timesaves, some from slow segments that still golded. This equates to 24+ minutes.
I'll definitely run this back a 3rd time for sub 12, but I don't want to spend another half day just to shave off 9 minutes. I'd rather grind more for a big PB like what I did here. I still need to learn the other categories for the 602, so a return to SM64 120 Star is what'll probably happen for now. When I come back, I'll focus on 120 more as I can get away with my Greens time and still have a much better 242 PB. It's been way more fun to run this game than I thought it's awesome
120 - 7:48:32 (Old PB = 9:13:16, -1:24:44) Greens - 3:58:08 (Old PB = 4:51:46, -53:38)
