Any thoughts on whether we should allow Forkphorus for runs? I saw that Paper Glider now allows it so I wanted to start a conversation on allowing it here as well. I don't know how much time using Forkphorus would save.
When using Forkphorus for runs, you would have to verify that your settings are as close to the main scratch game as possible before or after each run (30 fps, Turbo Mode, Image Smoothing and Sprite Fencing off)
If you don't know, Forkphorus is a website that takes Scratch projects and converts them directly to JavaScript, eliminating most/all lag that one experiences while playing on the main scratch site. Link: https://forkphorus.github.io/
Personally I'm in favor of allowing it, becuase 1) It's faster (:P) 2) It's more fun to run without lag and 3) It won't matter if you have a great computer or not to get a good time with minimal lag.
You may want to add it as a second variable, because as you said its faster.
Playing in forkphorus is slightly different.
That's a good idea. I think they should still be on the same leaderboard, maybe have a Forkphorus? (Y/N) column
Or you could separate it using scratch/forkphorus because saying Y/N makes it seem like forkphorus is more important that scratch.
I tried playing it on forkphorus and without lag the game runs differently
I can't get video on forkphorus for some reason, so I would rather have a different cattegory for forkphorus.
There is basically no point of making this rule, as you can just record forkphorus without edidence that it wasnt scratch
Forkphorus has a different style than scratch. The background is different than scratch.
You have to show that the settings are as close to scratch as they can be.
If you're using forkphourus you'd have to verify that you're running at 30 fps, etc. I'm pretty sure we'd be able to tell if forkphourus is being used since it has a dark theme and everything runs smoothly.
