There are plans to work on this game. But the question arose: Will speedrun be accepted if it is performed in the Russian localization of the game?

The localization of the game (officially, as far as I know) was carried out by the company "Buka Entertainment", they are also "Бука". In Russian localization the game is called "Готика Марса: Кровавая сторона планеты". The game was published in several publications in the country (Jewel and Box for PC versions, on the left in the photo).

As far as localizations go, I think they're fine to use on this. Mainly we hope that the game's speed would be locked to 30fps, since it seems to vary depending on the compatibility solutions used (some tricks with DxWND or DGVoodoo etc affect the FPS for some reason, varying it between 28-40). That's why we recommend to use Rivatuner, or NVidia's control panel to limit the FPS to 30.

If you want, you could scan that Survival Guide and post it here, I haven't seen that one yet, so would be delighted.

Oh, unfortunately this is not my collection, but a photo from a social network of a Russian-speaking community for this game. However, I only had a Jewel version in Russian (bottom left in the photo from the first message). The survival guide for the Russian version of the game is not as beautiful as for the US version.

I was looking for the US PC release, but they are in such prices that it's not worth to buy one at the moment. It's kinda odd that its manual hasn't been properly preserved into Internet Archive for example. The games are all the same across the different regions, only differences are with the dubbing and subtitles, otherwise they're identical.

I also did poke around the game files and there was one image that suggested that there might've even been a demo of the game, or was planned. That would be cool to find.
