Timer starts when you press "Start" on the title screen.

-Name yourself "A", Put your birthday as spring 1st, name your farm "A", name your Dog "A". -Mash through the intro. A, B, Start, Select, and every direction on the D-pad progress text boxes. -Sleep twice (until spring 4th), exit your house, Won will ask you if you want to buy an apple, buy the AEPFE apple. -Sleep until Autumn 30th. Save. Sleep again, check the weather on the TV. If it says it will blizzard, soft reset, (A+B+Start+Select) re-load, sleep, if it says it will blizzard, reset again. Keep doing this until you get a sunny, or snowy day. (blizzards aren't that common so you shouldn't get more than 1) -Then Sleep again, (you should be on the 2nd of winter) head to the exit of your house but save before you leave. Thomas will ask you if you can help him, he will ask for a bunch of things but you want him to ask you for the AEPFE apple or white grass. Reset until he asks you for one of those. -Once he does, say yes and wait until 7pm. (If he asks for white grass, go to the screen south of your farm, then immediately go to the right, behind the trees. The white grass will be there. Then go back to your farm and wait. -At 7pm he will come from town. Take out the apple (or white grass) and give it to him.

Timer ends when Thomas leaves the screen and you regain control.
