In Settings: for King's Field controls, I only tested a PS1 & PS4 controller. Here was my Pad Configuration for each:

PS1                                  
Button 1 - Magic
Button 2 - Menu/Back
Button 3 - Use
Button 4 - Attack
Button 5 - Look Up
Button 6 - Look Down
Button 7 - Strafe Left
Button 8 - Strafe Right

PS4
Button 1 - Attack
Button 2 - Use
Button 3 - Menu/Back
Button 4 - Magic
Button 5 - Strafe Left
Button 6 - Strafe Right
Button 7 - Look Up
Button 8 - Look Down

(These may be different for you; I'm not sure why it was different for each controller I used).
