He needs to have something to record his runs like Open Broadcaster Software or XSplit. Then he needs a timer to time his runs, I recommend LiveSplit.

If you're interested, I'm sure we can arrange a meeting in twitch.tv to discuss strats or some so he can get into our community if he wants to. AI is a relatively easy game to speedrun and a good game to start with.
