Escape 10k - Hacked Client Speedrun Guide

This guide will teach you how to start speedrunning 2b2t. The guide will be focused on the Escape 10k - Hacked Client category, but some aspects should still apply to other categories!

- Setup -

Before you start your run, there are a few things you want to setup. Firstly, it will be a good idea to have a search hack on, to search for Nether Portal blocks. I use tracers too, and a hotkey so I can turn it off once I have found the portal. If you're using Future client like me, type ".search blocks add portal" to add nether portal blocks to your search hack. Secondly, I use OBS (https://obsproject.com/) to record my runs and livesplit (http://livesplit.org/) as my timer. I'd suggest you watch Smallant's tutorial on how to setup livesplit here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xq2MCodtH34. A timer isn't required, but very useful.

- The Run -

To start your run, kill yourself. This can be done with /kill or any other form of death such as fall damage. Make sure you are recording. Then click respawn, don't move or move your mouse, just look at your screen and see if there are any portals nearby, use Search hack to help you here. If you don't see any portals nearby, you can kill yourself again and retry.

Once you are happy with your spawn, start running towards your portal. If you have a timer, start it when you first move your player or your mouse.

When you get to the nether, try to get to the nearest highway as fast as possible. You may need to reset the run here if getting to the highway would take too long / is impossible. 10,000 overworld is the same as 1250 blocks in the nether, so run that distance. Some hacked clients may allow you to see both your overworld and nether coordinates at the same time. Keep in mind that going to 5000 5000 on a diagonal highway is not the same as 10000 0, I believe you would need to go to around 7071, 7071. The axis you choose does not matter, so you may go to 10000 0, 0 10000, -10000 0, 0 -10000.

2b2t's anti-cheat is very broken. You may be teleported backwards if you go "too fast" even if you're just running and jumping normally. You will gain momentum as you run and jump, so it can be good to intentionally slow yourself down by getting caught on the ceiling from time to time. Another method is going on the sides of the highways, running and spamming jump, however the anti-cheat will catch you very quickly, so if you try this strategy, make sure to not jump to frequently.

Once you are at 1250 nether on any axis, you can go through a portal to get to the overworld. Depending on how optimized your current PB is, you may want to go a little bit further than 1250, to guarantee you don't end up at less than 10000 overworld, and having to run for a bit longer in the overworld. If your time is very optimized, you may want to go in a portal as soon as you get to 1250, or even a little sooner for extra timesave. Remember that this is risky and can cause you to lose the run.

Now that you are at 10000, stop recording, trim the video if necessary, and upload it to YouTube. Submit the run to the leaderboards by clicking the "Submit run" button. Fill out everything it asks you to do. Don't worry too much about not putting the exact time, as a moderator will retime the run for you. Then click the submit button, and wait for your run to be verified! After about 24 hours, your run should be up on the site for everyone to see!
