Separating JPN / CHN could be a middle ground solution, for now.

We just need to know if the China version is official/licensed/whatever by Capcom. It does not feel right when the isos of the chinese version come with bundled cheat engines and shit like that tbh

@Darazanjoll well that's another weird matter about piracy/backups, since there's a lot of people that runs isos (through USB or HDD) or burned copies on original consoles and no one could tell. So people needs to start showing the OG discs before doing a run or something? Weird topic indeed.

I think you're referring to the quality of the port instead of the authenticity of it, which is the main issue here.

Why AndehX? Sourcenext is an original release, you can even get it off ebay / amazon nowadays.

Wolf, duds and wusscake, I totally understand the frustration of active runners that have switched to the China version, but let's be REAL for a moment fellas, you know this version might be a bootleg and we can't prove at all that it existed as a retail version.

Unless someone finds a real copy of this (which is taking too long tbh) I say we should not use it at all for speedrunning.

Sourcenext RE2 and Mediakite RE3 might not be the best, but at least we know they're legit releases.

BTW the Veteran NG+ PS4 posted run has only half of the run in the video (or only 1 part submitted).

PS4 is probably faster in RTA than PS3 (or maybe not because RE4 loading times are atrocious on PS4 too).

Nice. But in that case maybe it's better if you separate each console imo, unless IGT matters at all to differenciate it from naturally better loading times (PS4/XB1 vs PS3/X360)

Just wondering if consoles still go by IGT and RTA is the focus for the PC version, since the rules are not 100% clear about that.

Skill sets and weapons carried from previous saves are not allowed.

• This means, when you finish a campaign, you will be granted the option to do "New Game+", but you can choose to not take the weapons from the previous save, setting up a "New Game" scenario.

• Before starting a run, check "Skill Settings" to verify that you are not using any skill set.

I was just going to make a thread about this precisely. Since it's a hassle to get the real "New Game" savegame and it's kinda confusing to setup for some people we're just going to not use skills at all for the NG run.
