Feel free to add more in the comments, but here's some current tech being used that you might not find from just playing the game.
Grenade/Explosion Boosting: This one is really basic, but runs have been submitted without them. Use the shotgun alt fire on the ground to move fast. Usually you look down while moving forward and it will boost you forward and very slightly up. Also you can use a grenade on a piece of glass above you when you're contacting it/near contacting it and it will break the glass and boost you upwards. There's also the full pump charge/ shotgun explosion boosts faster and can be used mid air, but does more damage. Generally, explosion boosts will move you towards where your camera is pointing if grounded and opposite the camera if airborne or something is in front of you. This trick is ubiquitous, you will see it in basically every level. The Blue does 35 damage, Green does 50, and you have 100 health, so you only get 2 blue, 1 green, or 1 green and 1 blue per checkpoint unless you damage an enemy.
Slam Jump: Do a midair slam, then immediately jump. Gives decent height without having to lose health from an explosion boost. Used most notably in 0-4 to skip the final arena trigger. The downside is it's not the fastest form of movement, but it costs no health and is quicker to perform than slam storage and more useful in lower ceiling rooms.
Slam Storage: Do an air slam and a wall jump at the same time, and as soon as you hit the ground, do a normal jump and you jump very high and fast. It's used most notably in 0-3 for the developer intended skip straight to the boss. It's faster than grenade boosts, but only goes straight up unless you combo with whatever air strafing or shotgun explosion boost you combo with it. it can also be combined with a slide to move quickly horizontally.
Bunny Hopping: Since the new patch, you can conserve momentum by doing more slide jumps when you hit the ground in a small window. Used most notably in the Chapter 2 boss hallways. It can be chained with most other forms of horizontal movement.
Sure, send me a video of your run and maybe a short description through some kind of dm (envelope in top corner, twitter, discord, whatever).
Types of runs I'm expecting eventually: P-Rank, All Secrets, All Challenges, 100% (gl with that one), or something else. Hit me with whatever surprise you have in store.
Oh, and fill up all the (empty) there pls. GL
ok, figured it out, couldn't really tell which files were the patched ones or not (and I dont feel comfortable uploading the entire game to google drive), so here's how to downpatch in 2020.
go here: https://github.com/SteamRE/DepotDownloader you need this external program, it's dumb. create a .bat file within it (new txt file, change .txt to .bat, google how to make the .txt show up if it isnt already), name it what you want. right click edit that file in notepad, put the following:
dotnet DepotDownloader.dll -app 953490 -depot 953491 -manifest 8256888781793129267 -username YOURUSERNAME -password YOURPASSWORD pause
then save. the pause (on a new line) is unnecessary, but if you double click that .bat file and it doesn't do anything, it'll tell you why, for me it didn't recognize dotnet as a command and I had to download NET core from microsoft. Google the error message and you'll find a stack overflow page or something with the answer. Of course, replace with your steam username and password you use to log in.
double click the .bat file you made. If the file runs, you will need to enter your 2 factor authentication password, then it'll download the depot to the folder you have the depot downloader program in. Take all the files in there that dont say depot downloader on them (should be the content folder and below) and replace the files in c>programfiles(86x)>steam>steamapps>common>Carrion
I also went into c>users>teddy(or whatever your username is)>appdata>locallow>phobia>carrion>_steam(a bunch of numbers)>saves and deleted any saves made after august 9 when the new patch came out just to be safe, but not sure if that's necessary.
if it works, the new versions will say 103-release-101-gaacc44a3 (idk if the letter arre correct, the 101 is the important part). that's the old patch. the new patch is 1.0.3-RELEASE-140-gaacc44a3 (they suck ass at patch names). but yeah 101 instead of 140.
that took forever to figure out, this shit dumb, you're welcome.
They patched out at least jungle skip, so if someone has the old patch backed up, can you put it into dropbox or something and link it in resources (and ping me).
ok now im getting it semi consitently, woo, might actually get a good time now 👀

he doesnt pull the lever down all the way ever any time I do it...
yeah how the heck do you do this one, can't figure it out
Hi · ◡ ·
If you've done a run of something in this game that doesn't fit into an existing category, record it on video and dm me either here, on twitter, or in discord and tell me the parameters for it.
So far all I've done is any% and all achievements, and that's what I saw people do in the demo for the game.
Other categories I've thought of: Unlocking the Secret Game, Secret Game Any%, categories involving unlocking secret friends (like the computer wizard in museum, the treat friends in qt, all the insanity in kouen, etc), All Secret areas (like the joel zone in qt or the art section in museum), vargshroom% in museum (it's really well hidden in a physics object and requires getting the 3 keys).
If you have a run like that doesn't fit into either any% or all achievements, send me the video and a ruleset and it will be added. I've set up the board in a way that I can add categories or variables for 1 specific sub game over the others if you have a qt/museum/kouen specific category. Also if you have something like the unintended/intended thing for qt I did, yep, can do that to on a per main category basis if it's similar.

Hi, the mods for Enter the Gungeon submitted a category extension board for the game and got denied for a weird reason: because they used my run which I gave them permission to use? Everyone's kinda scratching their head over mods being required to do an extension run on top of modding being a requirement for the board. We find it odd that like 5 or so people have to do a run or unnecessarily mod someone temporarily for it and we fail to see the point. From personal experience someone denied a board I submitted a few months ago for "plagiarism" when I submitted a community member's run after their 1st attempt got denied 3 months prior (they were just posting all of the runners' times to their discord and gave up), despite the fact that I never claimed the run as my own and explained what I just explained here. So maybe the policy needs to be reevaluated, especially since it doesnt seem to be consistent, since one of the EtG mods doesnt even have a run of the game and I think he was the one who requested the board (???).
So I guess create the EtG category extension board and make me a mod of it if that's what it takes, or just approve the previous board application Spleen submitted. I've been doing runs of one of the categories for like a year now and I want a place to put it already. Here's a video: same one as the previous with my express permission to be used as a basis for the category extension board.
If you've seen the gungeon leaderboard, you know how incredibly fucked up it is, new categories cant get added unless they either move like 1100 runs or delete a bunch to reorganize the board. They even resorted to using the IL's section for 2 categories to try to make it work, and they had to split it into 3 categories. This is the only reasonable way to add new categories, and we have at least 4, one of them being my all bosses category. Additionally smaller categories like the tutorial run could get moved there to reduce a tiny bit of the clutter.
I've had runs for a category that goes to every possible floor in 1 run and kill every boss on each floor. 10 floors 10 bosses.
I've been sitting on it for most of the year tbh.
Can the board overhaul be done already so I can submit this thing? Or would we need a category extensions board? Cause I don't know how to fit my run in.
My run was done with turbo and rainbow modes turned on as well, so I don't even know what to do with it.
I thought I'd post here too, but this is the whole blasphemous situation. There's at least 3 recorded runs so far that I know of for any% (more categories to follow), a community discord with over a dozen people and growing quickly, and we're figuring out standardizing the timing method right now.
I made a forum thread on the page for the prototype on saturday and contacted the mod on saturday via twitter. No response on either. Super mod only had a twitch link and was much more inactive.
I submitted an application for a separate full game blasphemous board instead of that prototype page, but if you feel it's more appropriate to just use that existing board and new mod moves all the prototype categories to misc, that's your call.
Forum post has like 200 views last I checked, so the interest for this board is there. I want to try to speed this along, because the last time I was in a situation with inactive mods, the inactive mod happened to log on like the day of the mod request and it took over a month to resolve. Been 2 years and I haven't heard a word from the guy despite the game getting more active recently. I want to avoid this situation again since one mod logged in within the past week coincidentally in this case too and I find these situations to be parallel.
I can add links to the discord and runs later since I'm on mobile now, but forums for the prototype has discord link, board app has one of my runs, the discord has others.
Rta and game time are close if you start on file select and end on fade out. Tbh I'd rather start on the press x to heal after the 1st cutscene and end on the final hit of the final boss, but the igt thing kinda ruins that.
I added that link to the side. I hope it's a permanent link
yeah it should make the run faster though since no stuttering in doorways, but that sucks about lower end pc's. the stuff they added is all graphical options for the most part, which the game doesnt need since it isnt meant to look super pretty since it was a week long game jam game.
nah it's an early build page. the super mod hasnt even logged in in over a year. the other I messaged on twitter but no response, but he logged in 3 days ago, so this is a problem if I wanted to try to make another board or have the admins give me mod like I did with another game I did with inactive mods. It looks like neither mod has streamed in ages either, so idk.
also my attempts so far have been 2 hours for any%
I'm working on any%/B ending routing right now and rather than submit a new board and convince the admins there should be two blasphemous boards, why not use this one.
Prototype categories can be moved to misc, cats can be added for each ending and 100%, and the url can be changed to just blasphemous and remove prototype from it.
If not, reply no here so i can just link this in the new board application and speed things along.
Each level has an in game timer on it, so it seems like something that could be run. I'm personally not too interested in it, but if anybody else is let me know in this thread so I can add all the levels, cause there are a lot of them (30).
Record a video of your IL (any of them) and post it here, I will add IL's after.
