It's not perfect, but I made a Glitchless Theory TAS. It's currently at 51:24. With more optimal step-count RNG and better inventory management, this could be sub 50 for sure.
I forgot to post my updated theory TAS I made a few months ago. It's now a 12:44!! There's still more optimizations I'd like to make soon.
I made a commentary / walkthrough vid of my Board Glitch run!
Hey, I never manually removed the loading time from my run I did a couple months ago. If I calculated it correctly, I would have a 1:57 instead of a 2:01. Is it possible for a mod to verify this and update my time on the leaderboard? Thank you!
Yesterday I optimized it further to 13:11!!! This is lowest I'm probably able to go with it.
I optimized it and got the time down to 15:45!!!
Hey, I made 2 Theory TASes for the Board Glitch category! Since I'm not a professional TAS speedrunner (I'm barely a professional RTA speedrunner haha), these can definitely be improved with better optimization, item management, and enemy RNG. (*Note: I'm using RTA timing rules and not TAS rules for these.)
This TAS is based on my current 2nd place RTA route (which itself borrows from MatChariot's RTA route as well as a couple of tricks from Samsara's TAS)
This TAS is based on Killllme's current 1st place RTA route but with my own changes.
Thanks for the info Beard! Going to try this again soon
I tried this again the other day and I got to level 5, but I must've shot right before the boss was supposed to appear and it didn't spawn lol. It's like, you have to keep shooting because you never know when an enemy is going to spawn right in front fo you, but you can't shoot too much because the boss won't spawn haha. So broken!
For those who don't know, you can use a bow or rope in this ice room to get right to the blue candle. I don't consider this a glitch, it's more of a small skip...so don't worry, it's ok to do this in a glitchless run lol. It can save a little bit of time.
Hey! If anyone wants to share any speedrun techniques, tips, tricks, or glitches, feel free to post them here.
Some topic ideas:
What are the best weapons to have at certain points in the game for each character? Which items to pick up and leave behind? What level should I be at now? When is the perfect time to use tonics? When to use the "call commands"? Fastest way to beat Lady Mamiya. Best way to always get Dynamo Skip. Etc
Ahh, interesting! Going to try it again but be careful when shooting before the boss appears.
I've played the game several times and the boss on level 3 will not spawn! Is this a known glitch, or am I doing something that is causing the boss not to spawn? I'm pretty sure there's a few more levels, but can the game even be completed? I'm using Rev A and haven't tried Standard yet. Maybe it will work on Standard.
Here's the COMPLETE Sweet Home soundtrack including all of the music and sfx from the final release and the prototype! There are 4 prototype exclusive songs and a few unused / removed sfx too.
Here's the original song that was meant to play during the Yamamura cutscene!! This song perfectly fits the length of the animation, where as in the final release of the game, the song that was used gets cut short.
In the prototype, there are additional NPCs and/or different dialog. Very cool! If anyone wants to help translate these, that would be awesome!
Found a removed Lake puzzle from the prototype! What's interesting about this one is that you can see it for a brief second at the end of the official advertisement commercial for Sweet Home! Not sure why it was removed or what the intended purpose was. I haven't figured out what to do here yet. For now unfortunately, there is no function.
In the prototype, there are a lot of changes to the layout as well as additional items found in certain areas of the mansion. Very interesting!
