I'm not a legal expert, so I can't really check if they actually conform with the GDPR. But at least it's something.
There are some weird and interesting things in there. Some could be for new or old features~~, but some just seem ... wrong? For example, there are runs listed where I'm certain that I have never viewed, verified, rejected, or submitted them.~~ This has been fixed. Here is a dump of my export (with some stuff censored): https://haste.thevillage.chat/ifofilafed.json

By that argument, Android and some consoles should also be on the Linux platform. I'd agree with Oreo but under the condition that there are no gameplay or accuracy differences between Chromebook and Android. But deciding that would be up to the community of each game.
Bump. Let's keep this thread up for years if necessary.
Regarding my question how to request data as per the GDPR, i have submitted a request to support@speedrun.com using this template: https://www.datarequests.org/blog/sample-letter-gdpr-access-request/ Feel free to also do that. For me almost two weeks have passed and no answer so far.
Adding an empty line before the "'Glitches' that are allowed:" should fix that
The video is correct, it just contains multiple runs dandy races and the bishui plains run starts at about 30 seconds in
@Garsh there is no authentication or verification when adding a social media link to your speedrun.com profile. That means you can link to any social media profile you want. In this case they linked to a twitch channel that isn't theirs.
Out of curiosity, which game and category would that be? Runs that are longer than 12h (youtube: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/71673) or 48h (twitch), are relatively rare.
I'm honestly really surprised about the amount of complaints about the current contents of the sidebar. In the first paragraph of the news post it even says: "if you have suggestions on what widgets you'd like to see on the right column moving forward, please let us know through the feedback form. We can have unique widgets depending on whether it is a user page or the home page, so feel free to suggest tools or displays you'd like to see potentially replace the news widgets."
It also says that the next update will be the "first iteration of the updated Game Pages and moderator tools". The "recent runs" leaderboard on the frontpage is based on the leaderboard on game pages, so i'm fairly certain that its layout will be updated along with the game pages. So most likely they will then work better with the slightly reduced horizontal space they now have.
I'd recommend that you post your feature request in the Feedback thread: https://www.speedrun.com/the_site/thread/g79jt
Maybe this small "mod" i made is also interesting for you: https://www.speedrun.com/the_site/thread/efgfj
that will make the board look something like this: (screenshot is from an ultrawide monitor)
Another update :)
- the last site update broke the front page so i fixed it
- the category selection on leaderboard now always takes up the full width (thx to @10 for suggesting that)
- better sizing for elements in the audit log (thx to @10 for suggesting that)
- if you don't like the new sidebar and font on the frontpage, you can remove it by uncommenting the last few lines of the CSS
As always, to update just replace your current CSS with the contents of this: https://gist.github.com/shenef/3dd4b99e74882873d7fb45cb5549f5b1
What YouTube and Twitter did is making their website a PWA (Progressive Web App). Making a website a PWA can bring some benefits, but for those the website needs to support that (which srcom currently doesn't). But you don't have to install an extension or make a website a PWA to have a website as a separate window like that. In chrome (and some other browsers) you can just go into the three dots menu > more tools > Create Shortcut and then tick the "open in new window" checkbox.
The smaller "recent runs" section is most likely temporary. If you take a look at the html you can see that the class of that table has changed to "old-leaderboard". Imo that is suggesting that they are working on a new way to display this part of the frontpage
I think that was long overdue anyway, the layout for the recent runs is bad enough that, just like @10, i made a stylish CSS to fix it. I'll have to redo that since they changed a lot of stuff but i'm glad to see that they are working on it
If everyone uses a autoclicker that clicks at the maximum speed that the game recognizes, then it basically becomes a clone of the neverclick categories. And if you allow scripting then soon every run is just 1 frame long. There really is no point in a category like this, even meme categories should be based on skill. The only kind of run i'd accept an autoclicker in, is if it would be in an extremely long category and the runner takes a sleep break (of course there would have to be rules and limits around the sleep break and the autoclicker speed)
Personally i'd set it up using variables and filters. Add a collectibles variable and set the lowest known amount as the default, that way the leaderboard will be automatically filtered to only show the runs with that value. If someone wants to see the runs for other collected amounts or all runs, then they can select that from the filters. If a new lowest amount of collectibles is discovered, then set the default to that amount.
If you go to your Profile and click on "Info", there is a list of games you moderate with a small image besides it. That is what is set in Edit theme > Icon.
