@Reilers if you learn the route for basketballs it becomes very consistent, it's easily the biggest chokepoint for casual players but not necessarily for speedrunners.

the animation is pretty much completely visual, while there are theories for it having a bit of an effect on speed, it is certainly not enough to cause a wipe for the category.

there are also some advantages such as a potential skip in seek, making it potentially easier to get better times. many bodies of lava in seek actually have a broken hitbox and simply don't work which allows some optimisation there.

with enough skill the end of figure's room is consistent and doesn't really make the run slower at all. the category will not be wiped.
