No there are not. Look at existing routes on ZSR. From there, look up tricks on the routes you don't know how to do on ZSR or YouTube. Look at wr runs. Ask questions on the discord. There isn't a guide per se, but there are so many resources that you shouldn't be struggling to learn a category.

My advice for starting would be as follows:
1.) Get involved. Join the discord for the game you want to run and interact with the community. Ask plenty of questions and use the resources available to you. Talk to people. Don't be shy, we're here to help :)
2.) Learn as much as possible. Discords are usually the best place to talk and learn, but the forums page for the game you are running is also good. If you look on the 'guides' and 'resources' pages, there should be some materials to help you learn glitches and stuff. Also, current world record runs are a good place to see optimal strats and such.
3.) Have fun. It may sound cheesy, but speedrunning can require a lot of patience and tenacity at times, especially when practicing a hard glitch or strat, and having fun will make this easier. If you get frustrated easily, like I do, this can be a hard strategy to stick too, but it pays off tenfold in the end, as if you're not having fun, what are you doing?
So yeh, get involved, learn all you can, always have fun, and most importantly:

Many people would agree with you, I personally prefer to hide my splits, so I'm less inclined to reset, but I still use them for data reasons. It's completely your choice, however.
Yes. You were banned from submitting runs. For good reason. You know that you can obviously still do runs. Is the purpose of this thread to try and get us to support your side in your ban? If so, it really hasn't worked. It's made it worse.
Assuming the question is 'can you use just a timer?', then yes you can. You don't actually need splits or a timer shown, at the end of the day they're just for you.
If the question is 'how do I create splits?', then right click on the timer and select 'edit splits'. Should be self-explanatory from there. If it's not, look up a guide on YouTube or something.
Dude. The mods aren't gonna come to your house, destroy your n64, and cut off your hands so that you can't do runs again. If you are banned from submitting, then you can't submit them, obviously, but nobody here can stop you from actually doing them. This is probably the most braindead question ever asked in the history of mankind. Did you even think for a split second before you posted this thread?
I'm confused to another level... 1.) You're not gonna be banned for not submitting runs. 2.) Let's say that you WOULD be banned for not submitting runs, for the purpose of this example. Would the best idea be telling everyone that you can't submit runs, or would it be to keep quiet? 3.) If the mods already knew you can't submit runs, why make a thread telling the mods that you can't submit runs?

No. You are forced to submit every run you do to this site. Failure to meet this requirement will result in your removal from this site, and termination of your life as you know it.
I mean, its better to submit runs here, that way we have a fuller record of runs. But it's not like anybody's going to stop you from not submitting. Especially if you don't tell them about it...
But super jumping is a requirement to reach Octavio, and if you could do it there, you should be able to do it everywhere. Other than that, this category is basically just Octavio ILs, as all the other bosses are so easy and quick they basically aren't bosses.
That's a real shame. Discord is infinitely better than these forums.
Well there is the LiveSplit automatic incrementer by DevilSquirrel - I guess that's effectively a 'livesplit autosplitter'. It has the accurate side of an autosplitter, but not the hands-free side.
