Isn't this literally just any% but only the great plateau section with a few minor tweaks, that'd be like having 2 dungeons as a category, there isn't much point Unless you're referring to Great Plateau 100%, which would be cool to have Also what's the point of getting rid of a category lol
no that wouldn't replace any% it would influence 100%+DLC and depending on the content it brings it could also influence other categories (e.g. if it adds in items in locations that would save time)
Lmao that made me laugh out loud Yeah go on make some more
I agree I think it would be a good thing to implement, it's not really an issue for me but I think it's important to keep the game consistent for other runners.
haha it's alright, it's just not often you get people asking general questions about a game on speedrun.com. It's fine actually I just didn't expect to see this type of thing in here haha
150cc cups count towards 50cc and 100cc cups in mk8dx lol
but 50cc and 100cc are just a slower 150cc, 200cc is different from 150cc because it is very fast, and 150cc is standard. 50cc and 100cc have no need to exist, similarly to how in other mario kart games 50cc and 100cc are only played in 100% (which is something I'd like to see btw).
Thanks for looking into it! I'm glad you understand, really good of you to admit to your mistake. Gonna resubmit in a bit.
So recently I uploaded an all stories run, and posted the heroes story and babylon story seperately also. I understand why the babylon story run was rejected, as during an all stories run you don't save, whereas in a babylon story run you do, so it would be different. But as for the heroes story run, it's exactly the same as doing it individually, if I just uploaded the heroes part without the splits it would look just like a heroes story run. In OoT glitchless you can get the child dungeons WR if you do that bit well, so why not here?
HI! Can I have my username changed to "Iden" (that's a capital i at the start) please? thanks
I agree with blast_kun, I think if a player wants to use keyboard they should do it. I'm using controller by the way, I tried keyboard and it makes such a negative difference that it's really not worth it.
In the PC version you can hold left and right together to gain massive speed in the sections where you're supposed to rotate the analogue stick. I'm assuming this isn't used in runs because it means you have to use the keyboard to play (so you have 8-directional movement). If I were to learn the game with keyboard, would this be allowed? I don't see why not, but I don't want to force other runners to use keyboard by doing it, so it's probably best if it's banned in my opinion. But at the same time, it should be allowed because it's just a glitch.
Fair enough, I understand. It would take too much time/effort/difficulty to make everyone note down what emulator they're using, settings, etc. so I guess it's easier to just leave emulator as its own category.
So I just did a few practice runs, here are some general lap times (very unoptimised) Note that I counted menu times as 26 seconds each
Normal Mode (seconds): RI: 14 RC: 25 RR: 18 RF: 24 RE: 44 Runs should be around 7:59 (including menus)
Reverse Mode (seconds): RI: 15 RC: 28 RR: 19 RF: 30 RE: 45 Runs should be around 8:35 (including menus)
Dolphin 5.0 just came out, and the load times in Sonic R appear to be identical to the console versions now. I haven't noticed any other differences yet. Were the loading times the only reason the GameCube and Emulator categories were split? If so,l I think any runs done on 5.0 should be submitted under the GameCube category now, unless there are any other minor differences I'm not aware of.
