I'll take a hand in comparison of regions, but you're doing the lords work here zgl; the snake key is like 13 seconds; but I can confirm that once my autosplitter split once jack died, now I only get it split when he falls to the floor and there is a 20 second difference there before I can open the door, you could be looking at like 35 seconds from two scenes that are like 20 seconds apart, who knows what other saves there are in the game.

If you could compile all the different parts you think there are timesaves and save vids of CERO D and regular game version we can compare frames like Liv said to find out how big of a difference there really is.

It's interesting how there are different censored versions too, it must just be commonplace in the east that they sell lots of different versions in store too.

I'll say this because it depends on category, yours is new game, most probably his was NG+? This means we have to check through all of your run to see if you definitely didn't do anything outside of NG, and if yours is like high up in the leaderboards were more strenuous with checking it. NG+ runs have a lot more leeway to be skimmed through, if I had the time I'd look through it now but I'll see what I can do as soon as I can; aside from that patience is all I can ask for since your category and leaderboard place does affect times. Knife runs and 100% take even longer to check.

There's nothing we can really do to speed it up, it depends on mods availability and time, all runs have to be checked and I myself have been out of action since I've had a very busy work week and I also only have mobile data and no internet until next week

Alright, now I'm getting tired of this and I'm about to lock this thread and delete any further threads arguing the point if this continues because it's getting tiring.

The rule is now the rule, set by us, the mods. Rules are based on a game-by-game basis, got it? There are some games on this fucking website that have ridiculous rules like "the game must be streamed" and then theres games that literally don't care, I saw a run for a game once that was a NON-SEGMENTED run that they approved as world record in a playlist of 36 parts, 30 fucking 6 parts.

Regardless of if we allow music or not in other games, you know what would've happened in an RE2,3,4,5,6 dead aim, fucking gun survivor even if the game was muted or it had absolutely blaring music? It wouldn't have been a case of "oh but the rules dont say you can't have music" the mod would reject it and literally just be like "you serious?" there is a line of literal stupidity that some people can cross.

When we said "dont drown out the game audio" that line is way too skewed for my liking. Personally? I understood the rule, but some people didn't. Because sorry to present the harsh truth; people in majority are idiotic, and so blaring music they will literally try to justify it like "well I can still hear the game audio". If I have to blare my speakers to hear the gameplay audio over somebody blasting For whom the bell tolls so loud I'm worried my mug might shatter, you know what that run can do? Get majorly rejected.

If you don't crack down on it now and just say no music, there are little nitpicky shits out there that would literally start to argue decibels. "Oh but I set my music to two decibels quieter than my game audio, I did it in my mixer you can check". You may think that's stupid, and nobody would do that well let me tell you in the history of RE speedrunning and speedrunning in general crazier shit has happened. Most of you have either started with RE7 or resurfaced with it; well let me tell you, most of us can see issues coming a mile away when youve been around a while. This is not biased toward newer people, I'm just saying it's not as easy to understand where we're coming from if this is your first rodeo, because it seems like the mods are just being assholes.

We are a front page game now. We are not some 10 player game, we are front. page. We have hundreds of players and probably even more viewers. You know what a game like that that gets nearly 50 submissions or so every couple of days needs? Regulation. If somebody proof call or points out something in a high ranking run, we need to have every single base covered for being able to prove or debunk the run. Audio is SO key in a run like RE7, it's long and theres a lot of audio going on even if it's not during game time.

At the end of the day, we're now a big popular game, we need regulation and we need support. We do NOT need our runners calling us Nazis for trying to improve how to moderate the game. You may not like a rule 100% well guess what, you're not having to mod the game. If we let majority vote have the say on rules for this game, we'd have a fuckton of people saying "well i dont think we need video or end IGT, you should just trust me" Oh look, because we're a voting democracy we now have a new record every day being beaten by 1 second with no video proof, let alone audio!

We put in our own time to verify your runs, we are not paid, we do not get enjoyment from making rules to annoy people, we do it to keep the leaderboards clean and manage the game that you guys love to run so much. If a few people disagree with me and some of the other mods and dislike us, guess what it really doesn't affect me, or any of the other mods either for that matter.

So basically guys, if you want to voice your opinions and talk NICELY. Do so. The people who throw their toys out of their pram and start screaming unreadable shit like "C is imposible, IMPOSSIBLE! IMPOSSIBLE YOUHOUUUUUU fucking! C is not complicated to understand if?" whatever that is, or just being angry toward not just other runners, but mods; will have their post deleted, then you can't even talk nicely, I'll be sitting you on the naughty step until you apologize and learn your manners. Be friendly, be civil, be adults, talk properly, make a point and don't lose your shit or we'll lock all threads talking about this and just tell you whats what, would everyone prefer that?

Understandable, however at the time it could have potentially been private, if its fixed now and you've had it re-submitted and verified then that's great. Sometimes people also submit runs when the video isn't finished uploading to youtube, I normally leave those submissions for a few hours to give the video time to upload. However sometimes they are private and the only way to fix it is to reject it to let you know and wait for you to make it not private

If you can point out a few examples then please do, we'll be happy to re-look at them. Like Carci said in the discord, due to the sheer volume and length of the runs, sometimes little things get overlooked, we rely not only on us but the community to point these out so we can fix them. So please, if you know of any, show them to us and we'll look over them.

A lot of the DLC is up in the air as to its viability as speedruns, there's potentials for it but it has to be agreed upon.

The line is skewed I'll agree; and I agree with the decision to axe music entirely, to me there's a lot of runs with light music that I don't mind myself, but to others would be unacceptable, then there's the outright obnoxious music that gets rejected.

No nusic at all is easier, just do what I do and listen to it with earphones in your phone

If JPN players can really save this much more time, maybe category separation is going to have to be a thing. If it was as simple as adding time fair enough, but evidently it isn't. Separation or leaving it alone seems the only options, unfortunately.

The issue I face is not with console, console can obtain the copy, it's with PC. PC players literally cannot get the japanese version. I can't make a final true stand on all of this because theres a lot of options all with pros and cons and everybodys going to have different opinions. But it IS a little unfair for US/EU PC runners who are in competition again JAP runners, because they can't just get the other copy to compete; theres literally nothing they can do but wait for us to decide to separate or add time to JAP PC runs.

Welp, youve heard it from the horses mouth. If one of the censored version runners doesn't mind, I mean he gets the idea that his version is faster by an awkward advantage. But then again it is easy to obtain the console copy.

I dunno, I've been on both sides of this fence using the evidence before, currently im sitting on it; theres points for both for and against but, I think im honestly for adding time to PC runs, i think adding time is the "easiest" option; however that censored copy IS available to console players; but if we add time to PC and not to console and just say "fuck the console runners they can buy the other copy" instead of just adding time too, we'll get some serious backlash, and I for one also think it'd be unfair.

On PC a lot of the triggers I can do near instantly since I can rotate my mouse faster than stopping and backing up, for console yeah, I'd say this is quick and smooth

At first I was against category separation due to the highly unlikely nature anything would occur, but it has and Japanese runners are getting closer in categories now, one record was even beaten by like the exact time the Japanese version takes.

I know it's work to separate categories and organise it all but for the sake of fairness I think it calls for separate categories, or an agreement of time additions, and soon, heck I'd do it if I could

I know and it's fine to raise the issue, but the bottom line is we do know that there are runs to be verified. I get an email about every single one of them, I just can't verify them when I'm busy. You have raised the point and we do understand, but a lot of mods may verify out of order or just from the top down it varies mod to mod.

I've cleared out all the current runs that were submitted so all of yours are done now, we know that they've been submitted but trust me I wouldn't keep posting every single time you submit a run and it takes a while to be verified, we'll get round to it, don't worry.

Absolutely, just stare at the holes you don't want her to come out of while moving and then turn your back to the hole you want her to spawn from or in some cases just move around the trigger point and she'll spawn where you want her to. You can see it in both the NG and NG+ records both influence her in different ways
