Well, in my opinion, for bounties for things like setups for certain tricks and glitches, and possible new glitches and skips being found, I would say that they have to be reproducible, so the person attempting doing whatever the bounty requires, should document it, and being able to explain what they did. For example: I would give out a bounty for a setup for cannonless, but I wouldn't give out a bounty for someone doing the upwards warp on accident, after attempting it for 10 hours. So a person saying "Haha I got this trick totally on accident and recorded it, but idk how I did it" shouldn't be awarded.
if he wants his personal best on the boards, he can add it himself. if he doesn't know about this site, then i doubt he cares
why do so many people care about this? if he wants his personal best on the boards, he can add it himself
there are 2 timing methods.
SRL timing (for races): timing starts when you select 1 player and ends on the last hit of bowser. SDA timing (for runs): timing starts on the first frame mario appears (2.2 seconds after you select 1 player) and ends when peach appears.
the problem is, just subtracting 2.2secs won't be accurate, because depending how high bowser is on the last hit, it will take him longer to drop peach, because he only drops her when he's on the top.
so from now on i would just SDA timing, so you won't have to retime every run.
tip: you're already using an emulator. so instead of using PAL (which is significantly slower) use the NTSC version (japanese or english)
mostly every game has one or two glitches which are hard to execute but they are necessary to get a good time. they seperate the dedicated runners from the casual runners. if you don't even want to learn those glitches and you are not able to get a good time, what is the point of speedrunning anyway? also i have been speedrunning 11 exit for a really long time now. of course the cloud may look hard, but it really is not. after a week of practicing you should have a down and should get it like 7/10. also this is just how this category is. be happy that it's in the first level of the game and not in the 2nd to last. also you are complaining about "Even if you get it, you can screw up afterwards"? did you ever do any speedruns? THAT is what speedrunning is. no matter if there is a hard glitch or not, you always need to execute well. this also seperates the dedicated speedrunners from the casual runners.
to me it just sounds like you want to get an easy top time on the leaderboards. but believe me. even if we would seperate it and there is no hard glitch at the beginning of the level, the same people would be in the top 10, just because they know the game well and execute everything well, not just because they are good at a single glitch.
ACE is also happening when you do cloud, but you're not actually using the ACE.
i alredy posted my opinion on the discord yesterday, but i guess i can post it here again. didn't run KH in a long time, but really interested in KH0.2.
speedrunning should be as accessible as possible. if you buy a PS4 it will always have an HDD. if you buy an SSD and mod your PS4 that's extra money you spend.
even though the SSD mod is officially allowed by sony, it's still a mod.
banning a certain type of hard drive seems arbitrary, but i think it's fair.
no dragon coins respawn once you collected 5 (even if there are more than 5 in a stage)
if there will be runs, we will consider adding it
i would recommend doing glitchless until you get a good time, cause you need all the levels anyway.
the only things you have to learn after that is the cloud setup and the bowser fight.
DO NOT learn orb, it's pointless learning YI1. also you forget how to do iggy's castle. and the best you can get with orb anyway is around 10:30, there is no point.
once you have a sub 11, practice cloud, my opinion.
11 exit was any% before credits warp was found so 0 exit is any% and 11 exit is any% (no credits warp)
no, quite a few people only record in SD, since the game itself is only 480p as long you can see what's going on, it's fine
i don't mind it, but i don't see a reason to submit the 29:59 when you got a 29:55 already
well if you get 5 PBs a day, i am happy for you
so the schedule is almost done and can be found here: https://horaro.org/kf/kufe16
is you are in the marathon, but not in the discord, let us know, so we can invite you.
The submissions have been open for quite a while now. We have gotten a lot of submissions with a lot of cool runs. With the marathon happening in ~1 month, we closed the submissions now and we will try to release the schedule soon.
