The number of bricks does not affect the car in any way as far as I can tell, the acceleration and speed don't seem to change at all between different cars, and cars with more bricks on them lose more bricks when they get damaged.

You could however choose the chassis that you prefer for each world as that affects the collision of the car with the terrain which can make some parts easier.

One thing you might want to consider: when I looked at my load times I found that their duration was very consistent, it varied by only a couple of frames over ~20 load screens. It might be less painful to compute an average load time over the first five or so load times of each run and only do a full retime of a run if someone else places close and requests it.

Either way, I think removing load times will be beneficial to the community.

Thanks for supporting this change (and for considering doing it all by hand :p)

Hello,

I noticed yesterday that by binding "move" to the mouse's scroll wheel it is possible to run much faster than using buttons.

This allows to easily beat the current world record, I got 32:12 on my second attempt this way.

Since this requires a mouse on which the wheel can turn freely, which some people might not have, I was wondering if it is accepted in the current any% category or if a new one should be created.

I checked the times and found the same differences so I made a load removal script myself. It removes the loading screens, the car selection menus between worlds and the main menu should someone choose to save and exit mid-run.

The .asl file and a video of me going through Sandy Bay with it activated can be found **__ here **__

Could you check if the script is actually fair for different hardware configs? If it is I will test it on a complete run to make sure that it doesn't do anything weird and then we might move on to implementing it for future runs.

Another thing that few people are aware of is that the boost you get from the starting line can be shorter/longer depending on when you start accelerating. If you compare my current __** PB __** with __** Rocket __**'s you can see that my boost ends at 5:40 seconds into the race while his ends at 4:40.

The optimal time to start accelerating is actually a little bit before the third red light appears.
