They mean that when viewing the site on mobile, if you go to the “Games” page, the top half of the page is all of the filters you can pick from and you have to scroll down to find the actual games.

It’s mostly just a limitation of mobile in that you can’t show the filters and the games side by side like in a normal browser. It’s hardly a big deal to just scroll down, but whether the filters are at the top or the bottom of the page, someone will always complain.

If it does, it’s rather negligible (it’s not required for WR or even a top time). The Pro matters much more for native PS4 games like KH3, the remakes, comparatively, are less effected.

I have the same problem, no matter what I do, I can’t get the green to go away. It’s always there when I’m browsing the forums, but when I’m on my profile or a game page, it behaves like it should. No amount of theme editing is changing it for me.

(Sorry for the double post but this is kinda un-releated to what I said in my previous post a few hours ago).

Not to change the subject of the thread, but I just re-looked at the LBs after the addition of the split screen categories was mentioned, and have you all considered using sub categories for the difficulties? It would significantly cut down on the number of main categories you have since you'd only need say a single 100% category and you could just setup Easy, Medium and Hard as sub categories underneath it. You could also file sole categories like Splitscreen under Misc (since they’re essentially just extensions of Amy%) to further simplify the look for the boards

The lack of runs on most categories would make migrating them easier if you setup Easy as the default, for example, and then had to move a few Medium or Hard runs to their proper place. Idk, just a thought.

AntarcticaTimmiluvs6 years ago

Just to clarify what I meant, I meant in context of full game stuff, not ILs since obviously loading doesn’t matter there.

@BostonBrew And I think you misunderstood my point. I’m not asking to change the LBs, I’m only stating why I stopped doing runs since Lemon mentioned it. LBs are meant for the masses, not for everyone. As you pointed out, I’m in the minority for wanting the consoles separated so it makes perfect sense to not do it and that’s 100% okay with me. Nothing wrong with saying “if you want to go fast, play on the fastest version” since that’s the name of the game so to speak.

Each game has it's own rules, so I would always check those before doing a run of a game. There's really no global rules for runs, each game decides what is and isn't acceptable.

Additionally, the site the run is uploaded to doesn't really matter, but most mods prefer it's on an easily viewable website like Twitch (or it's equivalents like Mixer) or YouTube. Any other sites (especially those like Dropbox that involving downloading a video) are frowned upon because it makes viewing the run riskier - the less known the site, the worse it is. I'd just stick to the aforementioned 2 and you should be good.
thirdly, most communities commonly do not allow the usage of emulation however there are some minor cases where they do, and or have their own emulator catagory.
This is not an accurate statement to make. This is true for more modern systems (PS and later mostly), but is just not true for early systems. Most communities and games for consoles like the NES and SNES usually always allow emulation because it’s pretty accurate to the original hardware. They may put restrictions on what versions of emulators are allowed, but very few outright ban them or even split out the categories.

@Exscrave Enable global hotkeys in LiveSplit. It will allow a key press to do something in LiveSplit (like split or something) without you or needing to be clicked in it. Just remember that the key press will always register in LiveSplit so don’t use a key you’re going to hit while playing your game.

Yes, recording a run and uploading it to YouTube is perfectly acceptable.

The mods of the LB can create the category for you, most wont create one without a run first (which you’re doing so that’s good).

As for all your other questions, here’s the answers:

 • no, there is no limit on how long a category can be.
 • what you do on stream in regards to donations has no bearing on a run’s acceptance to the LBs.
 • no, your hands and the console do not need to be in any video.
 • if you take a bathroom break or step away from the game or sleep, just leave the timer running for the whole time (if you’re using RTA timing that is).
 • if you sleep, it’s up to you what you leave idling on the game feed or if you even keep the stream up (see above about the timer if you’re using RTA).
 • who cares what Guinness says about anything, this isn’t Guinness.

Additionally, you might want to discuss things with the existing community for the game. They can help figure out rules or anything else like that.

I use a RetroTink-2x in my setup as well as the SNES component cables from HD Retrovision. The only difference is that I split the component to go to a Sony Trinitron CRT and the RetroTink-2x before connecting the latter to my capture card (Magewell).

Your setup should work fine for what you have. The RetroTink-2x into the Elgato should be fine, but the only question mark for me is your monitor. The RetroTink-2x outputs at 480p60fps, so as long as your monitor doesn’t have an issue with 480p signals, then you should be fine with what you’re trying to do.

If you go to a series forum, toggle “show sub forums” and then pick a sub forum to view. After that, if you go back with the browser (hitting the back arrow), when you get to the series forum again, the “show sub forums” is still toggled on, but the sub forums aren’t showing. So you have to toggle it off and on again to see the sub forums again.

Make sure to read the rules before submitting your request, and be aware that there is currently a bug preventing site mods from adding new games so there may be a longer than normal delay in processing the request.

Yes, some PC games use an autosplitter through LiveSplit. It depends on the game whether or not they have one.

They also do that to account that were originally created when the user was under 13. So if you created your account when you were 12, even if you’re older now, Twitter has been known to do this.

If this happens they usually restore your account and delete any tweets made prior to your 13th birthday.

This is a really bad place for this as almost nobody here will understand what you're talking about lmao.

You're better off joining the OOT and MM discord servers (you can find links on the games' LBs) and discussing it with them. Several members there are deep into hacking and disassembling the game and they might be able to help a lot more with whatever questions you have on this topic.

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but I’d like to see the ability to jump to different pages within threads (and forums) again. Right now, if I don’t click on the last page in a thread from the forum page, I have to either click through page by page, go back to the forum and click the last page or manually change the URL.

Not something that comes up often as threads usually don’t get more than a few pages long, but for some of these Site threads they can get kinda lengthy. Not a big deal, just something I used a lot as a convenience.

I know China got is own PAL region because their versions of the games (primarily on iQue) were different from standard PAL regions. I’m not familiar with Brazil getting its own derivative, but maybe it was done for the same reason.

I’m not entirely sure what warrants a region being added but that might play a part in it, but site staff could obviously clarify.

Isn’t Australia just PAL though? Unless that’s not true, but I’ve always thought and heard that it’s just the PAL version of a game.
