Idk why you're laughing when you downright disrespected a large number of people on this site with the shittiest, most ignorant view one could possibly have about speedrunning. And coming from someone on this site who does runs makes it even worse

Its like you don't understand that this is a hobby for most people and they find time to do it after work for 3-5 hours a day. At which point its easy to put in 300+ hours the same way people who are big into sports train for hundreds of hours. Get out of here with that bullshit.

Yeah, what Caracarn said.

Once you have a split program (Livesplit, WSplit, etc.) you just create how many splits you want, and then when you reach that goal, you split by hitting your "split" key which can be configured in the program. I have mine set to "Spacebar" for example, so I can just split by hitting the spacebar on a keyboard.

I'd recommend downloading one and playing around with it for a while to get the hang of it, Livesplit is feature rich and very customizable.

But emulator runs inconsistent, even on your own computer (according to multiple people who have use PPSSPP before). This would mess up competition due to the fact that you would need a stronger/better PC to go faster as well as create variable load times every run on your own PC.

It doesn't really make sense to have a category where the platform you're using (emulator) can make your runs slower or faster depending on how you're PC is running that day. Would suck to lose/save variable amounts of time every run you do. It's one of the reasons we never created an "emu" category for PS2 games.

That isn't a marathon, it is an auto host list.

enable global hotkeys if you haven't already. it will allow you to use livesplit with whatever keys you have set for it without being clicked on it

What "weird logos" are you talking about? Do you have any pictures?

Site looks perfectly normal on my end.

A 1 month long marathon???

Edit: previous message edited itself to no longer say 1 month.

Its exactly what it looks like - it was a site where people could submit their PBs for various games and build their profile which showed all of their runs.

It used to be semi popular years ago, but never really caught on with the wider community since most communities had their own individual sites for LBs (ie. ZSR for Zelda) and nowadays it's outclassed by this site.

Not to mention development has stopped on OBS Classic, so it's no longer getting any updates like OBS Studio does.

Zelda 1 has ACE where you start the second quest of the game, get the Flute, then go the Graveyard, spawn as many ghosts as the game can handle and then Flute + swing your sword on the right set of frames (based on the music) with certain ghosts having certain speed values and you teleport to Zelda. How it works is that blowing the Flute spawns a staircase in the graveyard and if the sprite limit is already maxed out, then the game attempts to load the staircase over one of the ghosts with a speed value of 0. The result is a jump instruction and your filenames get run as code and with the right filenames, you end up at Zelda. It's technically listed on the LBs as "Any% ACE" but it's still Any%.

Final Fantasy 1 (Famicom) has something similar. With the right filenames, you climb the first set of stairs in the game 70 times. Then you talk to a guard, save, and reset the console. You enter new filenames, reset, reload and climb the stairs 70 more times. After that, you talk to the guard again and you wind up in the final boss fight at which point you can just run away to beat the game.

As a side note
Legend of Zelda Link to the Past - I'm not quite sure how this one works exactly, but you can end up in the final room of the game in under 2 minutes, without doing much of anything.
If you're curious how this works, the easiest way to think about it is that the game as two layers - a top layer and a bottom layer. You can enter this bottom layer through a variety of measures (easiest of which is jumping off a ledge, S+Q in midair, reload and go take damage). Once you're on this bottom layer, you can walk almost anywhere, even to the Triforce room past Ganon as long as you know the directions to walk. We call it Exploration Glitch.

Are you asking why your runs havent been accepted onto the LBs?

If so, how recently did you submit them? Verification can take some time, if you just submitted them recently, then wait a bit for the moderator of the game to accept them. If the runs get denied or don't get verified, contact the mods of the game and ask them what caused your runs to get denied (or ask them to verify it).

Hopefully if you run this through Google Translate it will make sense.

You probably shouldn't link your email address on a public forum like this.

That is providing an open invitation for spam and other crap lol

Not entirely sure this account is a bot (has 1 run listed as 4 years old, but the account 8 days old so 🤔 ) but the thread doesn't need to exist https://www.speedrun.com/The_Site/thread/jjb8t

Might as well hop in and say I third Twitchleecher as the way to go. Ive used it a lot and it works great, downloads in source quality no problem.

Desume is the only decent one that I know of. It's been a while since I looked into it, but iirc, versions 0.9.10 and 0.9.11 are the two most commonly allowed since they are the most accurate.

Communities will usually allow DS emulators since the price of a DS capture card is expensive and can be hard to come by. Double check with the mods first too A ) make sure it's allowed B ) see if they have any recommended/required versions to use.

EDIT: when are we going to get emotes surrounded by colons so I can properly use B ) without a space and without it turning into sunglasses? OpieOP

That's odd that that was changed, didn't know that that happened.
