Of these three, I agree the most with option 2, as it doesn't necessitate needing to add another criteria to all the existing submissions.

Option 1 is also a decent option as well as it standardizes what can and can't be done in terms of emulation, which I have seen on boards such as Ridge Racer Type 4.

I didn't think that any of the runs I saw started from Circus Minimus, they tended to start from True Grits. The runs I've been doing that have been verified have started from True Grits and ended on Circus Minimus. It's just quicker to pick a track and just progress to the next one on all the other categories.

What separates this one from the others, and why I'm confused as to what the other categories have to do with this one is that it's literally just the better strat to start from Outer Limits, collect the egg there, and then progress through all the tracks backwards, as there's no egg in Circus Minimus anyways, so there's no reason to go there.

"We think this game will be more varied if everything is open" - this confuses me as literally the message before it, you say that almost all full games run from Circus Minimus and a category where starting at a different track is unfair to the other categories. That is, by definition, a variation, and furthermore, it's a difference from the other categories, and would have zero bearing on the other preexisting categories if this specific one starts on a different track.

Yes, the game starts from a clean boot. You're allowed to do the cheat that unlocks all tracks. From there, you go to each track and get the egg from each track, unlocking all of the egg cars. You're allowed to exit out of the race after the egg breaks.

Was a little bored with entering in the passwords to unlock all the egg cars on every startup so I thought it'd be neat to make a category that involved unlocking them the normal way on each track.

Time starts on starting the first race, time ends on collecting the final egg.

That's peculiar. Does it do the same with other games you have saves in? If so, I'm wondering if your memory card in general is corrupted.

I don't think it would be an issue if you did it on emulator or if you did it on PC, as that's completely separate from your PS2

Are you saying your save data is corrupted? Or will the game just not boot up?

If it says that your save data is corrupted, unfortunately that means that you can't use your save data anymore and you have to start from scratch.

Hello, I'm having a look at maybe doing some full runs of this game, and couldn't help but notice a peculiarly named category. Unfortunately, given the name of the category not quite explaining what it's about and the lack of specific category rules accessible to me, I'm a little confused as to what is the objective of the run? I've scanned through the only run of it, and I'm still a little confused as to what it is I'm supposed to do in the run.

Streamable in my experience is nonpermanent. You might as well upload it to YT. If you worried about copyright strikes, I think you can make a side-channel. That's what I do for speedruns.

You can definitely use a backwards compatible PS2 or PS3. My own runs were done on a PS2.

I've gone and updated the settings for this board so it allows you to specify what hardware you use.

Honestly, best timeline. The menuing and loading is so little of a factor on the run that this game is best suited to be run on IGT.
