Is there some way to see the status of a request that you made in the support hub? Previously for adding games / requesting moderation you could just check if you posted/requested it, but I don't see any kind of confirmation for anything I do in the hub and have no real way of remembering exactly what I asked, leading to a higher chance of duplicate requests. Is there some way to get them to notify you via email or something that your request is being processed like any other support forum?
Where can you download this game / get the patcher for this game? I can't find it anywhere in guides/resources.
Is there somewhere to download this game? There's nothing in resources/other forum posts atm.
I know this is very specific and most people probably haven't even considered running like this, but I have this game set up as a DSiware VC install using 3DS homebrew.
I don't think this should change loadtimes/performance since it uses the same thing that a DS cartridge would and it seems about the same in terms of overall performance.
Would this be on the leaderboard? I have a 2ds XL capture card, so I'd be able to show this off it that's needed in any way while making this decision.
I can get not wanting them on the main boards (for the reasons listed below), but why not make a sub-category like SM64 and just warn people that EMU runs might be cheated and are harder to verify?
I understand that it's near impossible to detect TAS and they often have faster loading times, but why ban them altogether?
I personally backed up a lot of my library and use emulators to use them more portably and with controllers I like or to play with friends through parsec/netplay and was wondering why they're generally banned entirely from speedrunning.
Just noticed they were gone, did they get moved somewhere? or what happened.
I got this set up: However, mario 64's VC release fails to detect inputs from my controller despite the fact that it SHOULD register as classic controller inputs. Anyone got a clue how to fix this?
There's a good chance that if this game ever gets bigger that ILs will be split into dolphin / real hardware since it's hard to detect TAS on dolphin. Just putting it out there.
Planning on adding cup speedruns to the full-game boards. If anyone has any other category extensions, feel free to suggest them here.
Would it be possible to add ILs to this game? Obviously the in game leaderboards exist, but I enjoy having my times up on src in the form of videos instead. It's obviously a lot of work to add, so I can get if you wouldn't want to.
I'm considering re-timing level 1-10 since you can use in app purchases for free now. If this change goes through, the game will be timed starting after you unlock the chainsaw in the tutorial instead. This way, buying certain items using in app purchases will actually be part of the strategy. Not sure if this is the best moving forward, so I'll wait for community feedback before implementing anything.
Most of the original mods (including myself) aren't as active as we used to be, so I'm looking for a new verifier for this game. Anyone who wants to apply, just make a post here and state why you think you should be a verifier for this game (you need at least 1 run to apply)
Ik this isn't exactly speedrun related, but this is a really cool project that just came out like last week and is getting 0 attention. It's in its first public release, but the creator is planning on improving the many bugs.
First off, I redesigned the leaderboards to look nicer. Second, if anyone has any new category ideas, feel free to post them here!
Use http://www.watchframebyframe.com/ and set your video to 60 FPS. Find out when your run started and when it ended. For example, if your first input was at .41 seconds and the run ended at .61 You do .61 - .41 on google and get your time of .20 seconds.
There is a bug with in game time where the in-game time and lap timers won't match up. For the time being, those runs will be timed by adding up each lap timer. This can be seen in where the in game timer is .01 seconds slower and 2 seconds by the end of the level. If it is found that the in-game timer is right and lap timers are wrong, times will be adjusted accordingly.
Make sure to add up laps properly, as the thing that seems to be a millisecond counter actually counts the frames instead (30 fps), so every .3 is actually 1 second. For example, the run above has .12, .28, and .29 in the millisecond spot. This adds up to .69 or 2.09 seconds in the case of timing. Combined with the 56 seconds that were fully counted, this run still ends up being 58 seconds.
Most of the time, this bug only takes off a frame or two, so it is unlikely you will need to count your laps like this, and the in-game timer will be accurate most of the time.
It has been brought to my attention by @Outhauled that you can spawn in items using the number keys and circle objects by pressing t, going forward spawning items and stuff will be disabled in all main categories. There might be extra categories added where this is allowed however, but they will be misc categories as they're meme runs.
1.) Is there some known way to remove the filters in the wii u virtual console release without modding?(aka enable widescreen and remove the dark filter)? 2.) If I were to mod my wii u and remove the virtual console filters for the game and only do that, would my run be allowed on the leaderboard? [I do have a method for this which I have working] I know modding the game is banned, but this is simply modifying how the virtual console displays the game, not the game itself, how it’s rendered, etc., so I’s like to check if it’s allowed.
Looking for a Verifier for this game. If you have any run of this game, and apply below you will be added. Please don't verify WR runs unless I have been inactive for a month (highly unlikely).
