United Statesyou have a pretty good processor and ram, which should be the most important for this game. although the graphics card is not quite as important for goiwbf specifically, your problems are likely there. you dont actually have one, youre just using intel hd integrated graphics. i know from experience that intel integrated gpu is actually awful.
they are incredibly tiny things you can bounce off against that help you when you wall bounce like mario, but just for tiny boosts. what you got is the super tiny chance that you totally grab it
In the rules, it says: “Video resolution is at least 360p and framerate is at least 25 FPS with no excessive stuttering or frame drops at any point.” If it is just one stutter at the tower, it looks like it would be allowed, as long as it is not excessive.
That sounds like space grav. Ive seen somebody go from the box to the floating rock, but its judt floating in mid air. Theres nothing else anywhere nearby. Theres no way you would get to the Sexy Hiker from there. I think it was space grav
What are your computer specs (GPU CPU RAM) and how does it normally run on those settings?

i have no idea whatsoever why the mods wont take a chance- a category could end up not being popular!! oh no!!! and what is the downside? what is the actual bad thing that will happen when a category isnt popular enough? will the speedrun gods smite the mods? will goiwbf be the laughingstock of the speedrun community, and well have to hide our faces in public? no. nothing bad will happen. in the worst case scenario, the category will not be that popular, and the mods will just get rid of it after a while. people move on. or, it could actually be fun....
Amorphous, before you shut down another potentially really good category, at least consider it. Judt one change really would affect the game so much. It would probably be an easy mod to make for anybody who can make mods. Once its out, people can try it and see how it really is. It would really be GOIWBF hard mode. It is disorienting at first and takes getting used to. We cannot literally do hard mode (small hammer, high gravity) because there would be no way to prove it. This is the GOIwBF hard mode that has crossed everybody’s mind at least once before.
And, like I said before- I really want to try this out for myself snd see other people try it, but it does not exist yet. Anybody who makes mods, PLEASE try to make this one.
exactly the same game- but mirrored everything is flipped horizontally. it is the same game and only lefts and rights are switched, yet while being the same game, it is so different. it would be great to see the actual challenges that could come with this, as i have never tried it
this is also a call to anybody who knows how to make a mod- a mirror mod would be pretty great. i have no idea how to make one myself
part of the game is vertical climbing (mountain, furniture, orange, granite rocks) and to not fall and skip over those you would have to TRY to not go fast or even at a decent pace in order go get under the obstacles you are not just literally but figuratively working backwards against yourself
and also, some parts need drops (space, lakeside)
This would work in some places, and seems fun. But, in some places it just would not work. The ice mountain and orange hell are both near vertical climbs. How would somebody get down those without launching themselves a bit to the left, and accidentally flying over? And would you have to and right next to the radio tower from space, or could you just drop wherever you want? And getting back to the tutorial requires some sort of drop/skip to vault over the rock wall. Mostly, it would just be too hard to not go at all to the side in places like ice mountain, orange, and the granite rocks, especially while speedrunning.
But people, we should focus on finding new categories! Some wont work, but just a little brainstorming will get us that right one
That actually brings up at good point- that some categories could have those sorts of problems. Maybe I should have started a new thread for this, but what I wrote was not just about space%. The goal is to add a third or even a fourth tab on the official leaderboard. We need new things and change to keep going. Imagine if Mario was a stand-alone game. "Oh yeaaaah, I remember that game!! Me and my friend Phil played that together in Junior High! Yeah, I guess that was fun. Man, that's nostalgia." What I'm saying is that there needs to be something new to keep goiwbf alive and FUN-isnt that what gaming Is about? If Mario never got any new games, sure it would have been fun for a while, but It would never have become the undying series it is now. Since we wont have endless sequels, and this is a speedrunning game, the closest we can get is new categories.
And to add on to what you said before apok, I would argue that an egg run is versatile. If you screw up on bucket you do snake, but if you screw up on launch or space you do egg.
Edit: and to @MonsterDobbs, you not figuring out how to efficiently run it does not mean that the RUN sucks. And the skips do work, there Is video evidence
adding on to what kiaokra said, more people will try it if there is a new official category for it. most people are not so active that they are eager to jump over all the forums discussions- the primary function for many is just to verify speedruns and use the leaderboard. nobody will look through all of these back-and-forths and say "man, i should really use space gravity" or "man, i should really get the easter egg as fast as i can." the two primary runs are unarguably glitchless and snake. glitchless because it is the default run, and snake, because it is the ONLY OTHER leaderboard category. why is it there? because there was a movement for it that got passed. there is currently a movement to add another category. it is inevitable that categories without official leaderboards and their own tab will never become widespread in popularity and regular. not everybody is moving towards the exact same goal for a change, but one thing is clear from the threads and the youtube videos and the new strategies and everything popping up- THE COMMUNITY WANTS SOMETHING NEW! one person referenced that goiwbf is a "slowly dying community" and the wording of the sentence made it seem that they were saying, "who cares? its not gonna be big in 2 years anyway." if DONT want the community to wither up and die like so many classic game communities have, we need to ADD SOMETHING NEW. people get bored of the same old stuff for so long with no change. and also, as a response to apok's shutdown:

Some of those people probably aren't even running the game anymore" YES, there were only ten posts supporting this, opposed to more for snake. but as it is widely agreed, and you said yourself, the community is shrinking. and as i previously stated, not everybody is going to post on the forum about it! most people are going to sit still and hope that a change occurs.
"I don't appreciate you implying the mods have not responded already" if you want to see what people want, make another vote! and dont make it specific so it gets shut down quickly- make a vote about a change or new official speedruns, and see what people want. follow up by adding something new. verifying our runs is a great service, and thank you guys, but you are the only people who can change something! none of us have power- our only power is communicating with you! you are shutting is down without a second thought or even looking deeper into the issue and seeing what should be done

Wasnt it sooooo much better to have an official page for the speedrunning? or did you just love it when all the runs were unofficial and unorganized? people HAVE been keeping track- but theres a lot less reason to upload a video titled "GOIWBF Speedrun Egg% or Space%" when it will just sit there. maybe youll put it in the discord, get a few claps, "i counted six chokes in total there lol" and life will move on. OR, use an official leaderboard.
Mods, ask this to yourselves: "Why am I shutting this down? Why have I been replaced by a concrete wall that stand in the middle of what was once a busy road? I have a crane so I can tear down this wall, but I just don't really want to go through that trouble."
mods really need to respond to what weve been saying- there are already two threads about a sexy hiker easter egg run, and many speedrunners have already DONE those runs. there should definetly be a new category, since right now the only real one is glitchless, which is just the default. snake only has 38 verified runs in total
ive seen that video, im saying that it should have its own category next to glitchless and snake- especially since there are people already doing it
