Texas, USASo as of right now with the information we have about the game, Classic mode is probably going to be the main speedrun of this game. If that changes or something, then it might be considered, but classic has a lot to offer for speedruns, and Full-game Leaderboards is an easy click away :3

Go to Filter, Character and you should be able to see it from there. Categories are split up by character though

During the melee run I think it would be best to be able to play another game during the 5 hour wait for melee, so basically you would start with Melee and once you are at getting MewTwo you start 64 or WiiU (cause they take less time than Brawl) and than go from there. but I would say it would be smart to keep track of how much time you have for mewtwo. so that you dont waste time for the melee segment if that makes sense
I've completed a run of this category, if this is something that people would do i have no problem making it a misc category, i think there should be a separation of categories between using versus matches and not using them. I did a run of not using them and got 8:04:47 if someone who was half good at melee did a run of this they should probably get a sub 7 lmao
I think itd be most fair if they were the tournament legal miis
if you guys havent, cyberscore might have leaderboards for these categories, its also a reason we dont have those categories. SRC isnt that great with IL leaderboards yet. once it has better layouts for ILs and stuff ill look into doing it

I can look into this when I get home and see if DLC should be banned or not, Main reason for banning DLC in Unlock All Characters is cause if you don’t have the DLC you have to buy characters for a speedrun which I don’t like and also it’s not really doing anything to enhance the speedrun, but again I’ll let ppl into it when when i get home for other categories

I try to make people running this game accessable and enjoyable to people that want to run it. Of course I can’t make everyone happy, but I do what I can. For the topic of wr without video, is game sucks for the point of needing video proof of a run, cause it’s hard to get a hold of capture cards for 3DS and such. So I try to be understanding when it comes to people submitting like needing splits or a picture of the In Game Time or something like that. The difficult thing about some categories like Unlock All Characters and All Challenges is that there is no IGT for the category and splits are easy to lie about, so you either need video, very accurate splits, or I just need to trust that you aren’t lieing. I know that ERGK wouldn’t lie about his time so I accept his run also the run seems like t would be that look, so it’s reasonable. So in conclusion try to work with me or the other mods fib you truly do have a situation about submitting a time or something. But you are not getting mod I’m not accepting BS submissions and you didn’t make yourself look great by spamming the forums. So with that being said, I hope you read this and be a grown up and work with me so we can all be happy.
So if you haven't noticed I changed the default time to IGT to help with Boss Battles leaderboards mostly but it doesn't negatively effect anything else so it should be good, when submitting if the category has IGT be sure to submit the IGT along with the RTA!
Also it has come to my attention that we could have more categories for the leaderboards and I want to hear what you guys would want on here. Suggestions on actual, legitimate categories that would be competitive or active would be appreciated!
i just wrote so much and accidentally deleted it all, but basically, i dont wanna discourage you to not run categories you want to run! So even if its not on SRC or whatever feel free to do it and voice your opinion and such, thats how communitys grow
It was a decision that was made in the Smash64 discord, the people that responded thought it would look the best this way. easier to navigate and see not just the WR time. and you can argue it isnt really an IL its just playing Classic Mode with a character, which would be more of a full game category. an IL would be more related to Target Test or Board the Platforms, but i digress. It brings attention to the other full game categories and shows off not just WR. I hope you dont hate it too much :3 it was a lot of work lmao
