I know some people time it by hitting aim three times after the first shot goes out. Clix_Gaming and Witchrain do that, I would watch their runs and watch their inputs to see what I mean. When I quickshoot I use an Xbox One controller as I am garbage at quickshooting on a keyboard. XD I just start mashing right after the first shot and it seems to work fine for me.
Oh okay. :) I'm not as experienced with autosplitters as some of the other mods so I thought you had to edit the autosplitter itself so that it matches the names you put in the splits. As long as it's showing the IGT you can name the splits what ever you want. I would keep the last split name the same though, that way it doesn't accidently end early by mistake (That's been happening lately and Shiido just made a hotfit for it in the autosplitter to fix the issue.)
That is fine as long as the IGT is displayed through the whole run (assuming you're running on PC that is). However doing this will make the autosplitter not split unless you edit the autosplitter so that the names match your splits.
I've seen this happen in a few runs now, so I figured I would come on here and tell everyone so less runs will get rejected for this reason. If you are using the old splits please make sure you're using the the old autosplitter. If you use the old splits with the new autosplitter, depending on the splits (Jill any%/100% come to mind), it will not split correctly and the timer will end before the elevator going to the helipad. The old splits did not account for going into the save room in Mansion 2 to get the acid rounds, and the new autosplitter will force 2 splits, one for going in, and the other for going on, when going in there to get your ammo for Yawn 2.
Also if you are using the new autosplitter, please make sure that you are not using the old autosplitter on top of it, as that can potentially lead to double splits when you go into a room, which will also cause the timer to stop early and make the run invalid.
Also while we're here, if you are using the new splits, specifically the Chris runs, check to see if they are labeled correctly in the splits. Some of them are incorrectly labeled, for example in some of the Chris splits it will have Courtyard 2 listed twice and will stop splitting once it reaches the second Courtyard 2. If you change that second one to Courtyard 3 it should work properly. This won't get a run rejected because the timer doesn't stop, but it will get your splits from there on saved so you can compare them to future runs later. :)
Now I have a question regarding this set up. Is it possible to get this set up using the method from the first post without it having an affect on other games from your steam library? Using this set up and going into other games completely kills the right stick for those other games.

Yes you can have the in game movies turned off in a valid run.
-
Make sure you're comparing against in game time and that everything is set to game time. Since the IGT needs to be shown through the entire run if it doesn't match the end game result screen the run is invalid.

The auto splitter is supposed to start at the first in game cutscene when they walk into the mansion, not at the intro text. Sounds very strange for it to be starting at the intro text. I say just make sure you have everything set up for timing IGT and that the correct auto splitter is in. Can't tell you the number of times I've accidently had the complete wrong auto splitter in.
Does this require having the physical disk for the pc version?
I've been wanting to learn this game and now that I got everything I need I went to check out the runs to start learning only to find them all gone. What happened?
I recently got a new controller as mine was pretty old and started to wear out. I got a Xbox One controller and plugged it in. I went and checked the controller config and everything looked alright, but when I started the game up the right stick no longer does anything at all. I went back and tried to do everything from the video again, and I can't get it working. What's even more strange is that when I try to use my old controller the stair skating doesn't work anymore either. Everything is set up like in the video, but nothing is working. Has anyone else had this issue when they change controllers?
Thanks for looking into this Clix. And yeah they don't use the glitch in their runs, but this looks pretty quick if it can be done right on the first try.
Does anyone know if the gas room OOB is faster or slower then the normal method used to get the code in the gas room? For those who don't know this is the out of bounds I'm talking about.
If_And_While I've tried it in both Win95 and Win98. It crashes in both at random times.
Diogo when I use the download link from that video it comes up as a notepad file. Not sure why.
I've been trying to get back into running this game, but for some reason it crashes on me over and over again. I've tried reinstalling the game, completely redownloading the game and the patch, messing with the compatibilities to see if other ones worked, tried in both Biohard and Biosoft, but still crashing every single time after having it open for a few minutes. I'm not sure what is causing the crashes or what to do at this point to get the game running again.
