Need for Speed: Carbon - any%, kind of what blind. Only knew stuff from my childhood. After 4h something I was in the final boss-race which resulted in a soft-lock and a rage-quit because I tuned auto-safe off and would've had to start over from the beginning
"Changelog":
- All Variables are now for Full and IL runs (IL's had own system to make it more appealing)
- Version 1.2 is now default
- Version 1.0 and 1.1 are marked as misc
- Added a DLC Variable. I think we should make it a sub-category as well since it's a major difference or make new Categories for DLC
- Tried to make Version a simple Variable, but caused problems with literally everything. Will look into it later.
Edit: Changelog v2 ;)
- All glitched v1.0 runs got moved into a legacy category respectively
- Versions are only Variables now and may only be as extra data
- DLC Sub-Categories!
- Glitched/Glitchless sub-categories got removed completely since there's no use for it anymore (Hence glitched v1.0 is legacy and nobody does it anymore)

Instead of literally every new runner to make a new thread asking about:
- How long does verification take
- How do I add a new Game
- etc. WHY does nobody search for 2min in the forum?! Is it really that hard?? I mean they are literally everywhere ...
My Solution would be:
- Move all Glitched v1.0 runs into an own Misc Category.
- Remove the Glitched/Glitchless Categories then since it's useless to have them then
Since I don't know if v1.2 is DLC only, we gotta leave that for now with the versions.
As I take a look at what I was writing, I notice that it's not clear at all what I mean. My bad xD I updated the IL-Boards for FRN to make it clear and since it had to be done anyways. Old System where every sub-category is shown and provides a nice list: Now that I updated the board, the ILs look like a mess imo (http://www.speedrun.com/frn/individual_levels): Now it also only shows the runs which fit the default-values of the sub-categories and no buttons to change these either. Like I said in my first post, this is only for the overview and not for the final IL.
Where the heck do china and arnold live at?! Digged a hole to the nearest university internet cable and connected to it?! WTF xD
Hey everyone.
I noticed that when you go to the overview of all IL's it won't show sub-categories which is why we had to setup IL Categories + Sub-Category which is ... annoying. Can't that be added as well?
Note that this is ONLY for the overview of all IL's, not for a specific IL, since it works fine there.
- No. When a Moderator is not active, you can request to remove him as mod/request to get mod yourself for that game here: http://www.speedrun.com/The_Site/thread/63nr7
- No, only your best run is taken in consideration for that (Except if done on different platform or something like that and the Game's LB wants to separate it)
What the hell has this sh¤¤ evolved to?! O.o Jeez
Found a bug with it:
- Select a Country with Regions assigned to it
- Select a Region
- Unselect the Region (To "-"/None)
- You see now all Countries again instead of the selected one.
Yea I think I got it wrong :O I was thinking about a Ranking-System on this Site which shows you how "good" of a speedrunner you are or how active you are on the site similar to ranks on most forums.
If I get the idea right, it's to group runs in leaderboards in "skill-groups" to give an easier overview of the runs/quality. If it is that, then I gotta say: Great Idea and I really like it.
I guess an implementation/setting to do it would either be manual by picking the groups by hand or by saying something similar to everything under X min and Y sec is grade Z.
So basically a Ranking-System based on your Speedruns? The question hereby is: How do you balance it?
People can submit their own games on the Site, some games have little to no runners and "easy"/un-optimized runs which can give you WR without big effords. Also, some Games are way more technical and require more practice and knowledege. For example: Is a WR in a newly released Game as much worth as a SMW-WR? You'd also have to check the category for each game then so yea.
Including to these difficulties, what about runs on out-sourced leaderboards such as for the MegaMan Leaderboards which don't show up here? Another thing is, that people only get points by speedrunning. But what about the people who are active in the Forums or in the community in general? Don't they deserve Points as well?
Bringing up an Idea should also come with some thoughts and at least a basic System/Implementation/Example how and why something should be done like you describe it. At least that's my opinion. Which doesn't mean your Idea is bad, just maybe not thought through yet.
On Twisted Metals 2, you could use Sub-Categories for the Difficulties.
And you'd also tell us what you need and what it's about. For Themes (The actual design):
- Either feedback (which isn't really required as far as I see since it doesn't have a theme)
- Themeing in general
Or for who the categories and rules are setup.
You should ask that on the Half-Life 1 Forums: http://www.speedrun.com/hl1/forum
Hm ... you should try to run the program as admin if you haven't yet. If you can't do it with right-click run as admin: Open the Properties (Right-Click > Properties), then to Compatibility and then check "Run this program as an administrator" to run it as admin all the time. If that doesn't help, then I seriously don't have any idea anymore
- Which OBS do you have? When you have the OBS Classic, you should consider using OBS Studio since it's the newer and more supported Version by now.
- What did you try so far? Since I don't know yet, I'll give you the basic answers:
- Create a new source in your Scene with either: Window Capture or Game Capture.
- When you use OBS Studio, be sure you don't use the "capture any fullscreen application" mode, since it doesn't really work (at least for me) and switch to "Capture specific window".
- Now simply select the Window/Application you want to capture.
- When you have issues using Window/Game Capture, try the opposite (Window to Capture, Capture to Window) since they capture differently and may have different results.
- What OS are you using?
- Are you graphic driver up to date?
- Is you OBS up to date?
In WARP the first Barrel OoB glitch. Saves around 2 minutes and makes the entire section really easy, but to get the trick you have to work with a really shitty physics engine (which allows you to do the glitch in the first place). The trick is by warping a barrel on a fence, warp in it to get onto the fence and re-position it before it falls of the fence. This can go first try or ... take 1 Million attempts. As I was trying to show it off at some point it took me literally 10 minutes.
