Not only did you not ask in the game's forum, you didn't even say what the game is :P So how are we to know? But yes, ask in the game's specific forum (or Discord, if it has one, many do).

I don't have a solution but try emulators Mesen or Bizhawk instead

I've seen some people who implemented the amount of splits in Livesplit so you can see how often sb. passed a level. Can anybody show me where I can set this up? :)

Ask the mods of the game how to record the inputs and generate the file.

I muted my game so I can do other stuff while gaming.
