If I remember correctly, killing him at a distance with those 7 shots has an affect on the spawns of the village, making the fight easier but also leads the enemies to chase you in a certain pattern every single time. Allowing the strats that are used after killing him. RE runs on a hidden difficulty scaling mechanic based on how well you play. This difficulty affects how often enemies will lunge or chase and you can manipulate the village to do what you want by killing the first ganado asap. Going for the head shot lands only one accurate shot and if it doesn't kill you aren't quite guaranteed to land the other shots to finish him which won't scale the difficulty up and then the other mobs might not gather up to be defeated easily.

Sorry if i'm off the mark but this is how I remember it.

I plan to start running this soon but noticed the categories are for finishing only the original first four days. I was planning on routing the entire True Ending run. Would it be possible to add it as a category?

I think it's a smart idea to kill off unneeded time and to setup for a faster run. So long as it is understood and used by each person. If we are not all using the same system then we are not all competing in the same run.

Just started playing and I noticed its quite a bit faster to 'Punch Dash' and then jump at the end of the dash. It resets the punch and the momentum can be carried in mid-air. Makes that first "purify all the crystals" level FLY BY, so long as you keep control of your jumps and don't do a slam on accident.

Punch Dash > Jump > Touch Ground and Punch dash > Jump > repeat

Is there any Any% category for this?

I wish I had managed to catch this, I've been stuck in an endless cycle of overtime at work for the past month. How'd it go?

Texas, USAOracleofSorrow5 years ago

You guys are INSANE. Insanely amazing. I love seeing your runs and those times go lower and lower. Just wanted it to be known.

Texas, USAOracleofSorrow5 years ago

I apologize for the issues with the rules, I should've been more clear.

Texas, USAOracleofSorrow5 years ago

will probably get to this when i can make time. You make a good point. It was setup as such because I only have Xbox one and couldn't test each version.

The run is only considered New Game Plus if you USE the unlocked weapons. Why would it be different just because they are there and not in use? New Game is default Gear. New Game Plus is Unlocked Gear IN USE. If you aren't USING New Game Plus Items then its not a New Game Plus Run.

A quick Run Down of the Glitch is that it requires a few things. Namely 1:You must be playing on a Save File in which you have beaten the game at least once (Ending does not matter) 2:You need to know the menu and be able to navigate it quickly 3:I have not attempted this on PS4 nor PC or Switch and would love someone who could verify it for me on something besides Xbox. 4:The trick is quick and while it can be used for any Fight to remove Debuffs, you will softlock yourself if you use it anywhere else besides Adam.

Pulling off this trick puts you in a state between Nightmare Mode and Story Mode. We will refer to these characters as Nightmare Adam and Story Adam(Player)

Upon selecting a stone you will get some Lore Text about them. Let it play and then back out. Select the stone again, but at the same time, pause the game. If you've done it right you will see the pause screen for a moment before the cursor rests on Atonement.

Choose Atonement and quickly navigate the pause menu to reach the Nightmare Mode, do not select Nightmare until the screen fades to black.

If done properly, you will spawn into the boss fight as Nightmare Adam in place of Story Adam(Player) with Zero Debuffs.

The Final Fight against Adam makes this trick a bit harder. You have less time to reach the menu and it requires an additional Pause. I will be doing a video Tutorial to better explain both forms of Nightmare Warping.

For those of you interested, there is a much easier (but not useful) warp in which you can warp Story Adam(Player) into Nightmare Mode and play Nightmare Mode with Debuffs.

Feel free to post your tips and tricks for new runners. I'll be explaining Nightmare Warping later on to anyone interested in fighting Adam(NG+ runs only) with Full Stats and No Debuffs in their runs.

This is an amazing post - on the note of the Hub table - on Console the button to jump and the button to access the table are the same so we have to go around it. Everything else in this post applies to all versions of the game though. Fantastic post!

Okay, doing some research Hex's can be used at level 12 in NORMAL mode but not in Casual.

-Tutorial ~ After grabbing the gun you are only required to fire the spreadshot at the dummies (it must make contact with at least 1 dummy) to open the door.

-Casual mode lowers the loot pool, meaning your chances for higher loot are slim to none. The best you'd probably get is Uncommon and maybe the once in a lifetime rare. Still dunno which would be faster - having better loot or easier enemies.

-Normal Character or Hardcore character only affects the Private Stash. Hardcore Characters share a stash and Normal Characters share a stash, but if a Hardcore character dies then they can never access the Hardcore stash again. Normal Characters cannot touch the Hardcore stash and vice versa.

-Exp gain seems to be the same no matter which mode you play(Only tested on Casual and Normal), though Champion spawning is random in some spots it seems while specific champions are always in the same place. Careful EXP routing places the player around level 4 - level 5 right around the first boss.

Gonna be testing a lot of things and adding to this post in edits.

Hex's are accessible at level 12 in first playthrough. In my casual playthrough i've been using the Time Hex (that speeds up monster movement and attacks) for bonus XP. I appreciate the tip of my own build. The shotgun is my favorite but im not a fan of the hammer. And I am excited about wall jump skips. The moment i started playing i've been jumping everywhere to see what I can and can't get over. Thanks for answering!

1: I own the game on Xbox one - would you consider adding a Console category? 2: Is the Any% run on Casual or Normal? (couldn't get the VOD to play) 3:Are hexes allowed? 4:any tips for a newbie beyond "grab shotgun, go fast"?

I got this time by comparing to the other available runs and both came up at 7 Minutes and 55 seconds from different runners. I fully expect the actual load times to be different but when two are exactly the same from different pc's and different runners it leads to this conclusion.

I noticed a run submitted for PC that had timed with loads and was in 3rd place. After Comparing to the other two runs I realized it was 2nd place. So, just for the record, PC Load times adds up to 7 minutes and 55 seconds. For future PC runs please be sure to subtract this time from your over all time with loads.

This is my first time hearing about this update but I feel it works the same as a Dark Souls run - its up to the player execution. I haven't had a chance to dabble in the classes yet (constant back to back 10 hour days at work) but I'll do some indepth testing and report back.
