I mostly enjoy filling out data forms correctly and researching obscure and dumb games, so most of the stuff I play there is very little competition.
Sometimes I play a game once and never go back. Sometimes I pay a game once and come back a few times. Sometimes I play a game a once and come back only when one someone beats my score. Sometimes I play a game because I think I can get a WR real quickly for little competition. Sometimes I play a game with lots of competition with no expectation of getting close to the WR. Sometimes I grind a game to no avail.
Wing Commander such a great series. Played 3 a lot when I was a wee one.
The world is but a hopeless abyss, spiraling towards an obliteration so complete that our minds simply cannot comprehend the inevitable outcomes of our meaningless existences and the futility of all our actions while on this pitiful planet. Welcome to sr.com!
Welcome! I think you'll fit right in here. I also think your expertise MAME will come in handy for someone at some point. I too just sort of play games all the spectrum, particularly old stuff, so hopefully we cross paths on some leaderboard.
Hello. Things like this are generally handled on a game by game basis. It would be classified as emulation for sure. Whether a run would be accepted would come down to whether or not the community for a given game is willing to accept it, and if there is any indication that the console plays the game anyway differently, then it would be subject to being banned.
My personal suggestion would be to use emulators for computer that are already known and accepted as accurate emulations, as there are accurate emulators for all of those consoles. That, or use original consoles to run into these issues. In general, on SDA, Retron 5 would be banned form use, as basically famiclones are in general. Like I said, it's come down to the game, but I'm doing some casual searches on google and finding claims that Retron 5 doesn't run lots of games accurately. exp: https://www.reddit.com/r/speedrun/comments/2flnqz/retro_consoles_are_they_legal_in_any_runs/
Apparently it's running Andriod hardware, and there is no clone hardware involved.
Fusion [3.64] for all your Genesis, Master Drive, and Game Gear games, my friend.
The best place is to ask this is on the Dark Souls 1 Forums, which are on the left hand side of the game page.
Anyone have any experience with these by chance?
I'm looking at getting this one because I need not only HDMI recording, but also VGA recording.
I pretty bad at messing with my tower, so I'm sure it'll take forever to figure out how to put in, but I know I got the room and capability, I'm just not sure if I should be looking at something a little more high end. (Hoping not, as I don't want to spend 500 bucks on it, but will if necessary).
I was in my hometown for the holidays and went by a barcade, and I noticed they had an original Tengen Tetris Arcade game. Honestly, if I wasn't with someone, I would have stopped and done a run right then and there.
But yeah, it was a pretty machine.
I'll put up a bounty for $10 for anyone (just the first person) who can complete an RTA full game run of Myth: The Fallen Lords or Myth II: Soulblighter on the Legendary difficultly level at any pace.
Ascending Timer, and then points replace time (since it's clear here that the actual time would be irrelevant). No, it's not really a speedrun.
What's funny is I was looking at SMO the other day, and there were like 3 times at 1:20:01 with no video proof, two from users who have never submitted anything, then there was only one a couple days later. Looking at again, all those runs are gone and now another proofless run is at the same time.
Like, clearly, if someone is submitting a run with no proof that just happens to be one second after the cut off for proof... At least the new time, the runner has an obsolete timer with the video, so maybe he's actually ran the game.
No problem. If you have any other questions let me know.
Hello. Any emulator that accurately plays is fine with me. You really can't go wrong with Snes9x 1.53 or BSNES 0.88
You can find both at emuparadise.me
ZSNES and any Snes9x 1.4x or earlier is banned.
Side note I'm still claiming Doki Doki Literature Club WR anyways, even though that's how I found out with visual novels weren't allowed (which, I'm actually pretty grateful for).
