If you have an NVidia graphics card, you could always use NVidia Shadowplay. It has a lot less features than OBS and lacks those cool overlays, but for simple recording/streaming it should work seamlessly in the background.

Please post this in the Minecraft Java Edition Category Extensions forum instead, to get the attention of the game's runners/mods.

EDIT: Welp, now I've done goof. I wasn't acquainted with how MC Java CE handles category submissions and I ended up suggesting this as usual for these sort of cases. Please disregard my advice on this post and follow @Merl_ 's advice instead.

Perhaps the site could implement some sort of "draft state" for runs to accomodate cases such as these? The draft would only be visible for the runner and noone else, and they could edit it later when they have the video ready or whatever and "publish" (which would basically be the current submission process for the mods to verify).

I understand it's probably quite the effort for a very niche case, but it'd be pretty cool to see it implemented nonetheless.

This is something you should probably discuss with the mods for the boards you submitted speedruns to. In any case, runs can take up to 3 weeks to be verified.

If they're still not verified after 3 weeks, you can try contacting the mods by DM here on sr.com or you could also try reaching out to them on their social media contacts, and if you still get no reply from them after a while you can try getting in touch with the site admins on this thread here to get them removed/get yourself added as a mod for the game.
