Are we allowed to use a webcam or phone video or something like that?  I can’t find anything about this.  Do we have to use a certain type of video recording for speedruns?  Just in case it matters, I will be running on the Xbox Series X.

I was wondering if there was a list somewhere detailing all of the skips and glitches that are used in the run.

Is doing a speedrun on the Xbox Series X and PS5 allowed?  I wanted to make sure.

Hello, I was wondering if playing the OG Xbox disc on the Series X for runs is allowed or not.

I have a few questions about running this game.

1- Can someone explain to me the list of glitches that are used in the run? Knowing skips and glitches is very important to know before I get started. I know of the small Jean Gray fight skip in Murder World and that the portal is used throughout but I’m confused as to how exactly it is used (even after seeing it in gameplay action). Any help is appreciated.  

2- I’m also curious about the Xbox 360 version of them game. I saw in the run of Unholy Tragedy (5th place on Easy NG+) that he used the Xbox 360 version but started out being able to pick his team right away instead of playing as the default team. How do you get to pick your team right away on Xbox 360? If anybody knows and can explain, that would be great.

3- Do we have to have a timer on the screen during runs?

4- Is filming “off-screen” with a camera or something like that acceptable?

This may be a dumb question but I’m a little confused on the timing rules. Do we have to have a timer on the screen for all runs?

Under the rules for the game, it says a timer must be present. Does that mean there has to be an on-screen timer? If so, could we change that? 99% of games on speedrun.com don’t require timers on the screen and everyone may not have the necessary equipment to record with a capture card and/or live split. Do you think we could change the rule stating a timer must be on the video? We can tell if a run time is accurate or not without an on-screen timer alongside gameplay. Thanks!

Hello, I’m new here. This may be a dumb question but is there a physical disc version of Resident Evil 4 on the Xbox 360? I can’t find one anywhere and my internet is garbage so I would really prefer to have a physical disc for speedrunning the game if possible. Thanks!

Hello. I was wondering if the method of unlocking Dark Phoenix matters in the speedrun or not. On the Xbox version, you can unlock her through beating arcade as Jean Gray or defeating Bastion as Jean in the story. Does it matter how we do it? Thanks!

I was just wondering if the PC world record time is even possible to beat. Probably not since there are 43 record holders right?

I was wondering if you would consider making IGT (In Game Timer) an acceptable method of timing in this game alongside RTA. I completed a practice run timed on a stopwatch using the exact same RTA timing rules for this game and the stopwatch time matched perfectly with IGT. The IGT can be found in the stats on the pause menu. I really hope that you would consider allowing this since it would make submitting runs easier and more convenient. Thanks!

Hello! I’m new to the MUA speedrunning community and would like to run both MUA 1 and 2. I was wondering if someone could tell me what some of the optimal teams would be for Ultimate Alliance 1. Knowing why they are optimal characters would also be helpful. I am excited to hopefully run this game at some point in the future.

Hello! I was wondering if creating some new categories would be considered. We might be able to have individual level runs for some of the mini-games with timers such as the timed combat mini-game and the see hulk run mini-games.

A category for the the four enclave leaders could also work. Please let me know what you think of these ideas.

Hi! I have lots of experience with this game and I am considering running it and I have some questions about the rules.

1. Is playing the Xbox version through backwards compatibility on the Xbox 360 allowed?

2. Is using an emulator (e.g. Dolphin) allowed? 

3. Are there any glitches or skips in the run?  I didn’t see any in the one run that is on here but I wanted to make sure.

4. What are the specific rules for recording?

5. Does anyone have any tips on getting better at doing the computer puzzles? I completely suck at them and there is a very good chance that I could lose runs to them.

I’m wondering if you know about the version differences between the Xbox 360/PS3 version of this game and the PC/Xbox One/PS4 version.  On the Xbox 360/PS3 version, load times are extremely slow when compared to the other newer versions and could give an unfair advantage to the PC/Xbox One/PS4 runners. Also, on Xbox 360/PS3, you can only do New Game plus on legendary difficulty. You cannot select heroic like you can on PC/Xbox One/PS4, making new game plus more advantageous for runners on newer consoles or on PC. I’m not sure if these two differences would warrant a new category for Xbox 360/PS3 separately or not. I just wanted to let the moderators know in order to keep the runs fair. In addition, the Nintendo DS version needs to be placed into a separate catergory from the PS2/PSP/Wii versions because the DS version is a DIFFERENT GAME entirely. It has different characters and the levels and stuff are different.
