A few people - myself included - have had issues switching from Disc 1 to Disc 2 after the Plane Tyrant fight.
Apparently this is a known issue, particularly when using a ROM of this game.
The solution is to make the save when prompted directly after the Tyrant fight (this does not count as an actual save - you will see it registers as save 00), restart with Disc 2, and load that save.
Annoying, but no negative effect on IGT so it's a solution.
The Redream emulator can be downloaded here:
We recommend the most recent stable version.
This is a pretty nice emulator - no thrills, but also no BIOS or firmware required. Controller and keyboard support, both of which are fully re-bindable.
If you need help finding a copy of the game let us know and we can point you in the right direction.
The original release of Resident Evil: Code: Veronica (i.e. on the Dreamcast) is not accepted on the Code: Veronica: X leaderboard, and so we have set up this board up to facilitate it.
Both Code: Veronica and Code: Veronica: X (exclusive to Japan*) were released on the Dreamcast, and so we will accept runs of either version - if you are playing a non-Dreamcast version of the game then you want to submit your run here:
Currently we have the standard categories for this game: Any%, S Rank, and New Game+ (or Rocket Launcher). If you would like to see any others then let us know.
For now, we have decided to forego the Glitched/Glitchless sub-categories on Code: Veronica: X - the reason being that the glitch is not possible on Code: Veronica and so that would essentially become the Glitchless run. You can, of course, decide to not use the glitch while running Code: Veronica X.
Console runs are encouraged, but we will also be accepting Emulator runs as original hardware can be hard to come by for some people - in the interest of fairness, console and emulator have been separated. Our recommended emulator is 'Redream' which we have tested and seems to work great; however, should you prefer a different emulator then that shouldn't be an issue.
Please read the Game Rules before recording your run. Any questions, suggestions, or whatever please let us know. We do not expect this to be a particularly busy board, so we can be flexible on things.
Mods.
*it has been brought to our attention that someone made a ‘fan’ version of CVX for the Dreamcast for the English speakers, as the DC release was exclusive to Japan. As long as there are no major differences in gameplay I think it’s fine to run that version if you have it.
FYI: The OG route asl wasn't working properly - it should be now, but if any gets a chance to test it out let me know please.
Hi all
If anyone is interested in running Nemesis% Light (you coward) then I have taken the liberty of re-working the lss and asl files.
There is no definitive route atm but you probably don't need to reset the basement and don't need to go into the save room after you use the lighter - thus I have taken both of these out of the asl. You can still do both but the splits won't be affected by it.
I am not even sure you need to do early crank/gas station and so I have re-worked both the OG Nemesis% route (early crank/gas) and Any%. For Any% just leave the restaurant after the Nemmy fight, don't go into the basement.
You can re-name any of the splits just don't add or take any away. Credit to whoever wrote the scripts (I don't know who they are).
Let me know if you have any issues - Link: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Z6_MRC3m0_YuAjxeILSDFk0IgFX-izOk?usp=sharing
Edit: these only work with REbirth
I’m behind this 100% - no idea why one of the games original difficulty settings is hidden in category extensions.
Dolphin is a good alternative if the PS3 emu is giving you trouble - it will be slower by default but at least you’re not going up against the PS3 version now. Hopefully somebody is actively working on the PS3 emu because it’s complete ass atm
@yamachan I am not sure about that sorry. The person who had autosplitter problems confirmed the problem was with their own PC, and not the version of PCSX2.
The SRT does not work with GCN emulator (which I use) - perhaps it also simply doesn’t work with PS2 emu? Perhaps you could contact Kapdap directly and he can troubleshoot?
@yamachan Somebody in Discord is having trouble with the autosplitter using PCSX2 also - does the autosplitter work for you? I updated Dolphin and splitter/SRT stopped working - rolled back to an earlier version and it worked.
Perhaps you need to use an earlier version of PCSX2? Someone had it working on version 1.1.0
I don't think there is any real evidence that it will become more popular than Any% - not that it couldn't happen, but the fact that Light Mode (which should be on the main board btw) and NG+ are both dead suggests it probably won't. I say if anyone wants to play it, then let them play it. If they don't, then great, they can play their category of choice. Personally, I would do a couple runs just to try it, but being +30 and still having chance to PB keeps me coming back to Any% - what others players do or prefer is their business.
If we route-out shotgun only it would be cool to have that too.
I think Rick’s choices could be fun. I think Gail% is pretty close to Best Ending; although the difference between the current categories is pretty negligible anyway.
Might be worth recording a Rick% run to give a feel of how different it might be?
Levi has posted a link in this thread - you can also find that pinned in one of the discord channels
Just been told there was some resolution so come back and I see we have a new mod? ISH volunteered and was told we don’t need new mods, and suddenly your mate is installed? Not very appropriate considering this is the guy who had a go at someone for not having a run on the board (he also doesn’t btw) and also came into my stream to have a go at me about this issue, which is ridiculously out of order.
I appreciate that you were willing to compromise, but this is not right. So long folks!
Yeah the PS4 version is just the PS2 version so that would also fall under SD. As for becoming a mod, I’d rather not. I just offered my services if any help was required.
To reiterate my position, I do no advocate for two separate games to be made. That is far more confusing and completely unnecessary - even splitting the current board into strictly HD and SD is a compromise to meet this weird clean look requirement.
Anyway I am going to be AFK for a couple days as I am super busy. I would like to point out that none of this has been about me. I am lucky enough to have access to the PS3 emu, plus I have a PS3 with the JP version - this push was to encourage people who don’t have those luxuries to play this game and have fun competing.
Good luck guys. Peace.
Hi Jarod - SD stands for Standard Definition. So HD are the PS3/Xbox360 releases, SD are the Dreamcast, GameCube, and PS2.
By ‘SD runners’ he means people who want to play the SD versions.

Anyway, at this point I have made it clear what I would like. Not sure how everyone else feels, perhaps there's a sensible way to figure that out.
