Yea idk what to do about that . I guess i could archive the coil & event items categories for tower rushes but yea that just isnt possible any more
"Edit this isnt even world record the wr is 4:05" Unless imverygodatobbies actually submits his runs i dont care what time he got . Gg tho
I think i know what you mean and that would not be considered a glitch
it took 0.44 seconds to load into the tower and you touched the winpad when the timer said 8:40.92 . 40.92 - 0.44 = 40.48
He's asking where it is on the leaderboard, to which i would answer: It was removed for reasons still unclear to me
Ok now youve taken it too far... its time for me to activate my demon mode
At the time you picked it couldnt even have been touching the win pad if it was aligned perfeclty
Im trying to not get spoiled on this game and im also not very good at it and i can Tell i dont have all 150 of those chomiks. Now you might respond with something like "That is a stupid problem for someone who literally volunteered to do this to have" And you would be right!
Could y ou resubmit this with da raw footage so the killbrick part Isnt sped up like that
Not all of these are frequent but I felt they were worth including . I guess I have to call them Asked Questions instead then
Q: What is and isn't considered a glitch?
A: The way the leaderboard defines a glitch is very all over the place but I'll walk you through it.
Here are some things commonly mistaken as glitches that are, on this leaderboard, considered glitchless:
-
Ladder flicking
-
(Normal) High jumps
-
2 stud climb-ups
Here is a (incomplete) list of some glitches used commonly in speedrunning:
-
Wallhops
-
Dance clips
-
Lag high jumps (or freeze high jumps, whichever you prefer)
-
Lodges
Note: Any glitch that's part of the intended route of the tower (not counting intentional skips) will be considered Glitchless. For example:
ToIE requires you to do multiple dance clips in the intended route but runs that use them would still be considered Glitchless.
ToOH has a huge dance clip skip on Floor 3 that, while added intentionally, isn't part of the actual route of the tower, so runs that use it would be placed in the Glitches category.
Q: Is there a place I can speedrun towers from events? Time Lost Plain? Practice obbies?
A: Yes, check out the Category Extensions leaderboard: https://www.speedrun.com/jtohce (Even if you didn't have this question I think it would be cool if more people submitted stuff to here. There's also the Unlock Ring category in the full-game section which is one of the coolest speedruns in etoh)
Q: What's the difference between real time and in-game time?
A: There isn't any. You're supposed to enter your time in the in-game time section for the leaderboard though. I should probably remove one of them but I don't know whether or not it would break anything
Q: Could I use an item that's not from an event in the Event Items category? Like bootleg coil? Helicopter powers? Crystal? Other ones I'm forgetting?
A: Nope sorry. If it is from an event go nuts though. You can use any item from an event in the event items category. I'm specifying this because that used to, for some reason, not be true (important note: Paid items such as Heavenly Coil aren't allowed in the Event Items category either)
Q: If I wanted to submit a run on a specific tower that I got during a tower rush could I do that?
A: Yeah
Q: If I get kicked by the anticheat at the end of my run, will it still get accepted?
A: Yeah
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask! Post it to the forum, message one of the moderators on speedrun.com, discord, Options are endless really
Timer script changed like almost exactly a year ago and it's done this since . Server sided timer has caused a lot of problems for speedrunning honestly . Will start removing load times from categories that need it
@4d9r That's almost certainly not true since the physics engine runs on 240fps and Roblox developers have publically discouraged people from going above 240 on that principle . It really did take too long tho man . Literally everyone else chilled out on FPS cap stuff before we did . Thats ridiculous
