So I am looking into doing ARPGME in 2018 perhaps earlier then November this time around possibly in the summer or spring and would like to hear from people on what they think about the Marathon being more then 3 days or remaining as is? Another thing I am considering with feedback is how people would feel about a competitive scene during this time where people can sign up for a competition which involves playing through some choice games possibly for bragging rights and prizes as well. Let me know your thoughts about the future for ARPGME for 2018. Thank you again for making ARPGME a great experience for myself and for those who also participated and or watched the event, Could not have done it without you all.
ARPGME has finished after 3 tiring and long days for our staff and runners involved in the marathon to put on a great show for you all. We would like to hear from you all what you thought about the Marathon and what you may have liked or disliked about the marathon over the last 3 days of content.
Thank you for watching and being part of the experience. ~ MASH

ARPGME starts in less then a week now.
Arena is fairly short speedrun with some interesting tech involved. There is also Morrowind as well which also has allot of neat stuff.
To add to Timmiluvs Internal cards offer more for console capture in terms of quality and reduce latency compared to the external counter parts by a fair margin. Elgato capture cards or devices can be a decent way to go that is lighter on costs with comparable performance in this sense. I personally use Avermedia Cards because they offer allot higher quality capturing with minimal to no latency depending on which of the more expensive cards you go for, They do also have external capture devices which are slightly better then Elgato. But this comes with the trade off of being more expensive in most cases for either internal or external capture devices.
Look into the kind of consoles you wish to capture and then the cards / and or external devices that would best suit that. Most internal cards use HDMI capture and there are ways that cost a bit more to capture older or different source types and consoles with them. Example from myself is, that I use a RCA to HDMI scaler to give me a 720p Source over HDMI with minimal quality degradation and it actually looks better through capture then to me playing it off the TV.
You can also start small and grow on it as jumping right in with little experience or knowledge can be costly and overwhelming from my personal experience.

Advertising a Chinese rip of starcraft as a mobile game wtf. Also posted in the Starcraft boards.
Personally I'd have no problem with offering ways to include board games and card tournaments into the event on the side, I would need a bit more support for the crew if that were to be something interested as I'm very happy to supply ones that I currently have or can get. If we were to request a small entry fee I could also arrange prizes and such as I have done similar things for local events in the past.
On the side of panels and things of that nature A suggestion I could offer is "Community inside" look at what communities around the games that are Nasa or other ran events are up to or working on, just a way for communities to also extend themselves to new possibly interested people in the games and potential runners as well as other events that may be working with the Nasa crew to keep people aware and informed of possibly interesting things going on even if its not at the event or shown on stream.
Just some thoughts I've had.
Logo to spoopy.
ARPGME is coming up soon! Details and links to the event can be found here; https://nasamarathon.com/arpgme/

In regards to the Full game leader board possibility, I was working on a way to do that and it will work pretty much as we already have things. Planning out this transition will take me a bit of time I got busy with plenty of IRL stuff and a marathon I'm working on among things.
Hopefully will have this ready to go soon, Also the new " Nightmare " map has been added.
TDLR: Board will look nicer easier to find and see runs, no more only seeing the default and top time for the level.
Runs will be sorted a bit differently then most boards a good example of the Overhaul would be the recent changes to Onechanbara Z2 ( https://www.speedrun.com/onez2#Chapter_Select ) I made a bit ago it was an easier board for me to do less runs and categories but it was a nice Guinea pig for the concept to try and it needed it as well.
The only things to figure out for this games board is which category types are going to be the primary and sub categories and so on.
Suggestions welcome on this as well btw.
ARPGME is an Online Marathon. ( https://nasamarathon.com/arpgme/ ) The marathon will take place on the NASA Marathon channel on twitch, starting on Friday November 10th and go till Sunday night the 12th. https://go.twitch.tv/nasa_marathon
This is the current Schedule for the event. https://horaro.org/arpgme2017/schedule Things may change drastically before the event, as well as during the event based on runs finishing ahead or behind estimates etc.
If you have an questions or concerns contact me on twitter. Or you can ask em right here and I can try and answer you. https://twitter.com/MASH_MX
I'm gonna be starting to route out NG attempts soon just for something a bit different. Tho we won't be able to do them as Violent or Beserk since those need to be unlocked I may adjust the boards to fix that issue.
For that section in story mode yeah but don't see the need for IL since it's a timed sequence if we were to use igt for IL my igt has never changed for that sequence ever only my rta varies a few milliseconds. Possible to that that only happens on pc for that.
IL makes more sense to use igt and that level is timed so u can't get a faster igt for chapter 1. Rta for it varies only because u need to skip the tutorial messages.
So yes IL will use IGT same for missions. Just need to update those for that and make sure igt is displayed properly after clearing selected chapter or mission instead of just best time.
Feel free to make suggestions for things always open to them, hopefully the way things are organized atm is pretty clear and easy, some point maybe look at if its worth having glitch-less or berserk ring separation but for now just as variables will be fine as it doesn't affect placements for it.
