I suggest contacting the roblox mods about the request. This thread is for last resorts for issues with verification of runs and other board related issues.
Still looking to fill more time with submissions so they will stay open till about mid April as an extension. Please submit to a chill fun weekend Marathon as we would like to fill all 3 days with fantastic games/runs. If you know anyone or other communities please do share and reach out to them as it is much appreciated. <3
Another way you can get precise timing for a run if it's on first movement as as example is to set a -x start time.
Notice that submissions do close in a few weeks so please get those in.
Game submissions do not have to be a clear cut arpg, just include both action and rpg mechanics/influence. Action mechanics are not usually associated with turn based combat, tho there are a few that hybrid on that for example Dragon Age. Having a more open submission pool mean there is a much better selection and variety of games to select from.
If you set the Mains as Difficulty: EASY, NORMAL, HARD, HELL. Subs would be as follows: Fighter, Amazon, Mage, Ninja. COOP Under COOP you would set it up as 2 PLAYER, 3 PLAYER, 4 PLAYER. and just allow the characters as variables for the players for COOP. That should work well and all that is needed at at least for now.
Nothing would need to be hidden and will be clean if done correctly. Obviously this mainly being for ARCADE by default if survival does end up being a thing that can be sorted out later but I doubt thats something I want to work on... at least for now.
I have experience with boards that I've set up in the past with vast complexity so if you ever need help let me know but I do think first control is a better way to start time which is just after that screen as you mentioned is 2.45 seconds from when you hit the button to leave the screen. This is after multiple tests and this is the spot, this also applies to restarting a stage which is the exact time needed to have control again. Timing end should be once Cleared appears. I did submit those runs with starting once i pass that screen rather then control but it depends it works well for games that are consistent with starts/loads and this game doesn't have variance that would affect it in such ways. Just my thoughts on this. Looking forward to doing more runs tho as those runs were done also for a marathon technically as well.
So i have been interested in this game for a long time and only really recently started to speedrun it since I did submit it to a marathon. But I did notice this board does not have rules or full categories set up yet.
So my initial assumption on timing was start on control and end on losing of control. It does seem like it takes about 2.25 seconds from the last screen before the first stage starts with minor testing to help with accuracy with timing runs.
I will test this more to get a more accurate start, and also look at other improvements since I plan to continue this small game in the future and possible look at coop runs.
Here is the video highlight of the RTA runs for the win. The Run that was the win was at the very end which is 19 mins and 57 seconds.
Games will be required to be streamed to a custom RTMP and will be handled by the Runner themselves, They will be responsible for balancing their own Audio and Game Volumes. They must be able to use and capture Discord Audio as this is how we will be handling setting up and streaming runs for the marathon as it is taking place Online.
The Game must be displayed at its original resolution and streamed at a reasonable bit rate and output for it.
You should not have anything else captured aside from the game and voice audio for simplicity sake for both you the runner and the re-streaming team that will be setting you up with the RTMP.
Please ask questions if you would like related to this.
Give the moderators time to verify runs they are not paid to do any of this they are volunteered positions in which respectful community representatives don their free time to help and maintain the community boards. No one is going to be active 24/7 every day just for your amusement and its not a reasonable thing to be expected, Give Moderators time generally speaking at least a week to verify or respond to things, because we have lives outside of the internet even tho you may not.
So when is Become Champion going to be added? I have a 3 player pre-made squad run with all 3 feeds in a single vod sub 20m IGT and Sub 1:30 RTA.
Curious about that, since myself and my speedmates did the run for a marathon, and have been playing together for awhile now.
Submissions Open March 4th and Close April 3rd.
ARPGME is an Online Marathon focused on showcasing and promoting Action Role Playing Games or similar games that borrow heavily on influences from them.
There is no shame in submitting a game if your unsure about it or feel free to ask about it. You can generally search a games name to find out what it's general Genre is, but exceptions can be made for games that do have heavy influences from ARPG's in general.
Turn based games are not ARPG's for a simple reason they just don't have the Action portion that makes them a consideration, there may be some exceptions to this. One example that I can give as an would be Valkyria Chronicles as there is Meta Action involved. A true turn based game would be something like Final Fantasy 6 in which its just an RPG and has no Action mechanics at play.
Mainly were looking for Real Time Combat in some form and also your typical RPG mechanics that drive character and or story progression as a bare minimum.
Games Like Castlevania for the most part are okay to submit, SotN and the likes are closer to what would be acceptable from those titles.
You Speedrun Zelda? That's also a good game to submit.
Kingdom Hearts games are also ones that we have accepted in the past and we sure do love the community around them.
Is your game more focused on Action then RPG mechanics? Well that's still worth submitting we have sneaked in games like DMC which are pretty cool spectacle kinda of game to see.
And Yeah we like the Dank Souls. So if you run any of those or the Souls like games then send those Submissions in.
Hope that you will consider submitting to the 3rd ARPGME and make it even better then it was the previous year. ~ MASH
Very truse, I did talk to him awhile ago and said he was investigation some more stuff, he has been actually more involved with trying to find possible routing for various things so there still stuff out there.
Airwalking can be used to do some interesting stuff like oob and a few other things. I know little about it myself but it's been getting alloy of testing and actual run application thanks to vipeazone.
It's called airwalking and to my knowledge vipeazone has found and posted numerous videos and even whole skips using it among other things.
He is a known glitch hunter by trade and occasionally speedruns, check out his stuff I'm sure many runners will learn a thing or two from him.
I rather time things by using a Sun Dial as its more accurate then whatever else. But its not easy so......
And you Double posted and Necro posted like Scum Good job, but now I necro'd because Humans are stupid and can't figure out how to use google... It's 2019 people.
Generally Speaking both runners should record Proof if they wish to claim they have done X.
