@somebroyoudontknow Let the guy answer threads, he's contributing
xx_420_blazit_xx made a video demonstrating how to do it, you can watch that. His YT is nobodycallsmetubby
Quadruple posted LUL LUL I think I'd have to be really impatient to do that LUL
Also remember to keep your mindset good, no matter what situation you are in. If you feel like you haven't gone anywhere for days, if you feel like you have to practice one thing over and over and over and over but it doesn't feel like you are going anywhere, or you still suck at it. Stay disciplined, remember why you started speedrunning in the first place, and don't worry about how long it could take, because it will feel a helluva lot longer if you worry about how much you improving.
Realistic goals are a good idea, and it's important to note that, yes Darpey is right, thousands of attempts and hundreds of hours of practice is accurate. Mindset is extremely important, because that's your true limit, what your mindset is. You just need to find something to motivate you (and pick a good motivator) and get a good mindset, and your golden.
You would have a good mindset if you don't worry about anything, and you practice, speedrun, that sort of thing for fun, and don't worry about anything else, you don't worry about how MUCH your improving, you don't worry about how others are doing, if others are bopping you, and you accept mistakes as a learning opportunity, and you accept failure as part of the success.
Remember why you started speedrunning*********
@kingof_jonnyboy And stop clicking "Post" more than one time, just be patient and let the post go through, we don't need more than one
@Darpey 455 will happen for sure, unless everyone that will ever go for it dies WutFace Never doubt speedrunners to go the next step, or to find something else, or to be crazy enough to do anything.
@kingof_jonnyboy And no, it's not about how many runs you do, it's about the practice too. Both are very important, practice moreso. Practice is so important, it's almost everything. Runs are basically everything you practiced all put together, and with meaning.
4:55 you don't need 1-2g to get 4:55, you need to save 1 more framerule over WR and get a really really good 8-4
I predict 5th place 4:56 by maybe this month, or next month, by tavenwebb
I've always wondered, what if you do fast accel in the last room, therefore saving 1 frame, would the bowser hammers be different? If not, how would you know if the fast accel actually saved time? Also what if you slow down in the last room for some reason?
It shouldn't take you as fast as 3 hours, that's way too fast.
But actually, just practice the last part of FPG alone, that's what helped me
Also you can go to the Minus World Ending category, go to darbian's time, and just listen to how he did 1-1 FPG, you'll get an idea of what the difference between how long you wait before you press jump
@KingOf_JonnyBoy Stop making grammar mistakes ree
I use this no jump 2nd bump when I go for fast 4-2, it's really useful for me
You never know, maybe a setup for mavpole will be found, maybe someone will be crazy enough to do it,
It shouldn't take you as little as 100 attempts, that's too fast
Bizhawk I think is even harder on your computer than FCEUX, and I don't think there is an automatic timer. I suggest just using Nestopia and using Manual splits since Nestopia is the lowest resource emulator so it's the easiest on your computer.
Wall clip is a fine name, that's fine I would include 8-1 Fast accel + Mavpole, because someday someone will do it. No one has done it yet ever though. Only human theory
It's only like regular any% for people with low 458 or mid/high 457, because it doesn't affect them in any way really. Everyone else that isn't going for those times, has better times, worse times will have more trouble because of this.
Right, but it would be different and more difficult since you can't let go of B whenever you want, you have to hold it the entire time
