Yeah, I tried something similar for the zombie in the hallway to the piano a lil while ago, the problem was how inconsistent it ended up being, so I decided to stick with my usual "counting steps" strat afterall and even though it was like 1 second slower, my success rate was much higher. And judging by how inconsistent it seems to be for Roo with the zombie in the hallway to the small dining room, I'm still inclined to stick with my old counting steps strats.

I have however been using a method very similar for the zombie in the basement right before the elevator (credit goes to Shadowboss for that strat!) with Chris for almost a year now and it's pretty much a 99% success rate :

It just seems to work really good for certain zombies and not so much for others (unless you're frame perfect...)

So yes, melee only is possible. However some sections seem to be flat out impossible Knife Only, mainly the pit you get knocked into in the Old House and Margarete throws Bees at you. In this instance you're forced to use a gun.

Not a ton of testing has been done for the VC version but what youre most likely feeling is lag from spawns being generated on-screen. Unless I'm wrong and you're experiencing something completely different. Sounds like spawn lag though.

To my understanding ACE only works on Gambatte as there's hasn't been full console testing to say it works on console. I've heard that people haven't managed to get it on BGB.

A common mistake that many people make is right at the beginning of the fight. When you shoot the first Ganado you have to make sure you have the correct distance to him. Look at some shadows on the ground, they should mark like a big X. Thats a good visual sign on where to stand. If you are too close to the guy, the next wave will spawn in a different spot. So you will kill less enemies with your grenades.
Only thing I can think of why it doesn't work for you.

You don't need to record the gamepad screen, since all the real action is on the screen.

-Get a capture board from 3dsvideocapture.com

The latter option is pretty expensive, and voids your warranty. So... recommended is to just record your WiiU gameplay.

any specific reason why ePSXe 2.0 ? i found that 1.9 seems to run a bit smoother, but then again... its always about the plugins with ePSXe

I've been looking for a fix to this for so long, thank you so much. I've always had issues in bigger areas but this should fix everything. You're the realest homie around. Too late to start up stream today but I'll give it a shot tomorrow and see if it fixed my issues :)

So I've looked at the IGT for Parasite Eve 1 today, and discovered it does not count loads for doors.

Just curious, considering this, why RTA was the chosen platform for running this game? Considering you have a method where runs can practically be equal regardless of platform/emulator.

Ahem, in don't really see any reason for a crash in LA. It does crash in LADX but it's not the same. Are you playing on an emulator? Which version of the game? Have you maybe inverted save names between DX to LA?

I'm not sure about the first one but i've never gotten it to not mute the game, if anyone would know it'd probably be Bigman, I'll look into it a little though when I can.

Clipping through the MO Disk door with GPS and finish the game is possible. Only thing that could push you through it would be a super swipe from a lab licker. 
Might be an easier way of getting OoB earlier in the game but then the OoB might not be active throughout the entire game.
