First of all, congratulations to Nilly896 for discovering the holy grail of mini-game manipulation. This really opens up the possibilities of determining the speedrunning limits of these games in ways that RNG will simply not allow for.

However...in reading how this was done through the use of save files, it occurs to me that this method is impossible without the use of mods or emulation.

While I certainly don't want to keep these records off the boards, shouldn't they at least be noted as having been run under emulation? I tried using the filters, but does not seem to have exempted these records.

From June 1st, YouTube will apparently claim the right to put advertising in all of the videos on their platform, regardless of whether the creator has enabled advertising on them. Will this effect the integrity of speedrunning submissions? I imagine it will be harder to validate a submitted time with advertisements popping up in the middle of a run.

I'm thinking of installing this (it's such a beast that I'll have to delete some things from my SD to make it fit...), but I see there are currently no bowling categories to run. Can we add some?

Something I discovered running the Speedbowling category today. When you bowl a perfect game, a "Perfect" message appears for three seconds before the "Finish" message will appear. This means that the fastest game to bowl would actually be a 299 (or 2999 for 100 pin bowling), taking the smaller time penalty to avoid the three second delay in finishing/moving on to the next game.

Is that something we want to accept as a quirk of this game, or can the "Perfect" message be an acceptable point to end/move on to the next game?

I tried to make a game request, but wasn't allowed because I didn't have a contact method registed. So I registered a Twitter account. This allowed me to make the game request. This request was then rejected with the following message:

"Your game request of <redacted> has been rejected. Reason: Please add at least one more contact method to your profile. (such as Twitch, Discord etc.)"

Could someone please make clear the minimum contact requirements to submit a game request? I don't use Twitch or Discord, and would like to know what "etc." means (apparently it does not include Twitter)

I submitted a run to a game, but realized afterward that I entered the wrong type information ("Advanced" instead of "Standard"). Is there a way to amend a run submission with the correct information, or pull the run to resubmit?

Hi, K-Patch here, the current world record holder in the extremely competitive Wii Party U category of Battle of the Minigames (3 Points, 2 Opponents)

I'm here to prove that there's a place for speedrunners with no skill whatsoever, but the DETERMINATION to grind out records in a game that basically comes down to dumb luck.

There's plenty of low-hanging fruit to be found here, so please join me if you feel so inclined. The more the merrier!

Made my first attempt at speedrunning the other day. I got an HDMI to USB adapter to stream to my laptop, then used AMCap to dump the raw output to an AVI file.

VLC complained about a non-existing index, but still played back the video fine. However, when I tried to upload the video to Youtube, the sound lagged seconds behind.

I've tried exporting this AVI file to something else using VLC, but everything I've tried re-introduces the lag. Is there something that I can do with this file that will make Youtube happy with it?
